    Hello wonderfuls :(

Is it ever appropriate for a* Christmas tree to go up in November? And then stay up to the planned decommission date of end of January?

In semi-related news, should I get a new job away from people who, uh, plan differently?

    * it's actually two but I can't deal with the trauma in one sentence so had to use footnotes. Hold me.

1st of December for me, no Christmas songs until December + Die hard is a Christmas movie.

Those are my thoughts on Christmas.

It's my mum's birthday on the 6th, so by tradition I'm not allowed to even think Christmas until her birthday is over.

Then after the 6th all my thinking goes towards the sweet baby Jesus. (Not in a weird way.)

Similar here. Missus' birthday is the 3rd, so I have an agreement with my daughter that we put the tree* up the following weekend.

*Yeah, we have two also. Putting them up isn't so bad, but taking them both down again is a ballache.

*But really, I don't give a toss, I'd just think you were a bit weird.

I think ours is going up on the 7th, though I am campaigning for the 1st as I'd like to get maximum use from our inordinately expensive tree.

Goes up around 12th/13th. Comes down by 6th.
If we are away, we don't bother putting one up at all.

1st December. Pretty much all down and away on the 27th :p

It's all about the countdown so the kids have the excitement for 3 weeks odd. It's all doom and gloom after boxing day.

Late as possible, I'd prefer not at all.

Usually go up around the 2nd week of December and down in the time before new year!
