My GF and her mum freak out when they see a magpie, and consider it unlucky unless they see another one afterwards :/

it is a commonly held superstition throughout the British Isles that it is unlucky to look upon a lone magpie and there are some interesting regional beliefs about what you should do to ward off any bad luck........
