I think it's based on the Samsung controller - but you may need to check - and I don't know how, or if, it can be updated as Samsung haven't provided a way for end users to update the firmware on these drives to date.

I think it's based on the Samsung controller - but you may need to check - and I don't know how, or if, it can be updated as Samsung haven't provided a way for end users to update the firmware on these drives to date.
It only has 70MB/s (actually mine benches at 85MB/s) sequential WRITE speeds.
This is much less important than you'd think, only really comes into play copying files onto the SSD from a raid array of HDD's.
Or if you're a professional video creator or something dealing with massive uncompressed files.
Dealing with small files it actually has better write performance than the crucials.
I see 70 MB/s for sequential write on the Intel, not sequential read (250MB/s).
