Hi, on Christmas day me and my girlfriend are building our first PC together!

The parts that we've bought are:
Ryzen 5 1600
ASUS ROG STRIX 1070
MSI Tomahawk B350
16gb Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 3000Mhz
Corsair TX650M

I've been told that the motherboard isn't good enough though, someone said that the MSI B350s aren't good for overclocking

I've requested a free return on the site I bought it from but the only problem I have is the site doesn't have much choice, it has to be from this site due to purchasing the Tomahawk on credit, I can easily send the Tomahawk back and get another instead as I haven't even opened it yet, its between

MSI B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC
Asus Strix B350-F
GIGABYTE B450 Aorus Elite

they're all roughly the same price

I'm also worried about RAM compatibility on all of these motherboards

We're planning on overclocking the CPU to 3.8ghz

Thanks!

should be fine to push 3.8ghz just fine but need a better cooler then stock to run all cores at that speed- more so for sound and heat .
i've your not running workloads and just gaming should be fine .

would push X370 strix or aorus 5 if you can over B450 boards if you've got the extra £30-50 odd
