Hello,
I have a "spare" PC for the grandsons when they visit. It is:

intel quad core I5-6400 processor
Asus Z170-P motherboard
8GB DDR4 memory
SSD
on-board integrated graphics Intel HD530.

They play "Fortnite" and "Forsa".

I have a Nvidia graphics card (GeForce GT1030)that cost about £60 installed at the moment - not sure it is any better than on-board graphics.

What graphics card (available on OCUK) can I buy (e.g. up to ~£150) that would match the processor / motherboard please? They only visit every few months so not going to spend a lot!

Thanks, Mel

If you're only looking to buy new, then I would agree that the 570 linked above is the best you will get for your budget, however if you are comfortable with second hand, your post count suggests you should have access to the member's market, in which case you could pick up a 580 for £100 or less, or a nVidia GTX 1070 for £130-150.

In any case a 570 will walk all over fortnite and Forza Horizon 4 (at 1080p at least)

Yes, 570 is a good call, would run those games at high settings perfectly.

The GT1030 should be fine for Fortnite also at 1080p high-ish settings 60fps. Depends on the model. If its one of the 'proper' GDDR5 versions, it's fine. If its one of those GDDR4 versions - you're right, it's absolute garbage even for Fortnite.

The GDDR5 version is about 100% faster than the GDDR4 one, despite both being called the exact same thing. Why they didn't make it GT1020 is beyond me, ****** marketing practice.

570 should be fine new. I’ve only Just upgraded from an r290 which worked perfectly for overwatch. Was paired with an i5 2500k and was always on 100+ FPS

The RX 570 is great but in all honesty I would get a 2nd hand RX 470 from the bay. Around the same performance, less power hungry but sell at around £60/£70 a pop.

Well it's installed and Win 10 updated and driver updated to latest on web.

Will see what they think! Is there someting I can run to get a "test score"? Mel

Fortnite is free so could sign up an account and install that, whack all settings up to full and see how it runs :)

Ah but the trouble is being an old fogy I have no idea how to play Fortnite or how it should run! (let alone enter a competition to win £1m!).

Will try on of the others. Thanks, Mel

I need another new graphics card of a similar quality as I have "stolen" the installed card (RX 570) for another PC. When I look for the AMD Radeon RX 570 it doesn't seem to exist any more. When I consulted OCUK via a web-note they recommended a replacement at ~ twice the price I paid for the 570. Is there a current equivalent for the RX 570 - at ~ price I paid please?

This is the system in question:

Intel quad core I5-6400 processor
Asus Z170-P motherboard
8GB DDR4 memory
SSD
On-board integrated graphics Intel HD530.

Suggestions to replace the integrated graphics please

Thanks, Mel
