It's all relative - if you are loaded, then spending 4 Grand (as long as it's spent wisely), is not a problem.

If you are a average Joe, with a average bank account, then spending 4 grand will only end in tears, when you realise that in 18 months time, your system is worth next to nothing.

Moral is - Depends what 4 grand is worth to you in the scheme of things.

Moores law states relative power doubles every 2 years so depreciation is likely to be at least that much also.
Premium parts will depreciate even faster, I estimate at least two thirds of RRP lost in 2 years. I bet theres detailed statistical analysis on this tbh, its big money after all.

th difference performance wise between 1400 and 2000 is pretty bad, same goes for 800 to 1000, really speaking, the more you add on the smaller the improvement. you can get a pc which will wreck every game out now for 1000 quid.

Townlea, not that there is much point in this but you have picked an SLi motherboard and 2x ATI graphics cards(even making the assumption that no Master card is required for the RD580 chipset on other motherboards), is one just to sit there and look pretty?

There is no point replacing the coolers on the Sapphire Blizzard cards as they will be better than the aftermarket solutions.

would look the nuts when finished, need help for water on cards though, that block was the closest i could find, but could be modded to fit
