I dont bother or see the point in Facebook or Twitter etc, I see my mates and family enough as it is, why waste my spare time keeping up to date with them when I see them enough anyway.

Waste of time in my opinion, socialising should be done outside away from the computer, not on the dam thing.

I don't have a facebook account as I just don't have a need for it and find its security laughable. As for twitter I have an account but its private and I don't tweet anything, I just use it as a single place to read the twitter streams of people I follow.

my concern with facebook would be if something ever bad happened to me or my family i.e serious accident / death/ arrest etc and the media gaining out of context information/ pictures from my profile.

There have been many recent examples of this i.e. with the recent submarine shootings the sun posted facebook pictures of one of the murdered officers in fancy dress!

If it wasn't for facebook, an old dive buddy from over ten years ago wouldn't have been able to contact me and invite me to his wedding in Sweden at the Ice Hotel.

Don't use it and i've managed fine without it. If people want to get into contact with me, it's not exactly hard, don't need facebook to do it.

I've seen family and friends use it regularly, usually for idle and stupid gossip. Kind of became an annoyance after a while.

It will be superseded by the next big 'social networking' craze thats will inevitably come round sooner or later.

Makes me laugh, years ago everyone complained about MSN Messenger because of privacy, risks etc, then comes along Facebook and Twitter and its the best thing since sliced bread.

Ironic isnt it.

I don't use Facebook and never had a account. Why, because I don't want to broadcast my business to the world on a silly website. If anyone wants to contact me then that's what I have a mobile phone for.

There is only 1 flaw in Facebook's privacy setup. No matter WHAT your profile is set to - unsearchable etc if you are part of ANY public group then you can be found.

But if there is anything that gives you a privacy concern on your profile landing page it's 1 - your own fault for not locking it down or 2 - Your own fault for not locking it down.

If there is anything on any public content that gives you cause for privacy concern then it's 1 - Your own fault for posting it there.

If there are any pictures of you in public places doing things you do not want to be seen it's 1 - Your own fault for doing it in public.

Facebook is an APPLICATION. What you do with it is your own responsibility.

Never had a Facebook account, never will

MW

I think you're me. Didn't realise I had two accounts.

Facebook does allow creepers to stalk on their prey but I couldn't care less about it, TBF.

It's easy enough to deal with privacy issues but many people don't care or have no knowledge about it.

I like the thing about being anonymous on a public forum where you can raise your voice. I use forums to exchange information, don't really feel any need for social networking.

don't use facebook. i feel no need to publish my life nor do i care about having 5000 friends i actually never see. if i want to communicate with friends then we just meet up :)

to me, friendships are forged by sharing real life experiences not by keeping tabs, that is just voyeurism

also i wouldn't trust facebook with my details. just look at their business model, it's just a marketing database.

to each is own.
