I need to get my car back to this immaculate condition.

I look at this and weep. It's in need of an alloy refurb and some chips touching up at the moment. Not to mention a good polish or giving it to someone to detail.

Kwikfit use Hunter equipment actually...

Is that a recent development? I havent been for years since my local one failed on 2 attempts to align it. I certainly didnt get a before/after printout of what had been done.

The place I found on alignmycar actually hung reflectors off each wheel and the device turned my steering wheel from lock to lock etc. It just seemed like the quikfit place used a laserpen underneath the car by comparison

So, been looking at a few 182's, prices in the market seem to fluctuate anything between £1.5k (not touching!) to anything up to £5k! Patiently searching the market, but looking at other (boring) alternatives...

This one is near where I'm staying now (Leicester)

And another one thats going for £3k...

Slightly confused with variations in the price?

Avoid both of those. The first one doesn't have the cup packs, the 2nd one has something weird going on with the exhaust.
Look on Pistonheads, there's a few good examples at the mo.

Second one doesn't look like a bad buy, black gold ones always go for a little more than other colours (bar liquid yellow, inferno orange and petrol blue). Might be £200 or so over priced because of mileage.

EDIT: One thing i did just notice was the cam belt was changed almost 10k miles after it was suppose to be done, which does imply maintenance wasn't well maintained, but this would only be a concern if prior service history matches this. i.e. the cam belt might have been done at 72k as well.

Second one just is in need of new rear exhaust hangers

Agreed

Okay, my car is making a hell of a squeal/screeching sound when turning the wheel for parking/or moving slowly. Normally full lock.

Car is in for MOT and Aux service soon - hopefully have it diagnosed. Would the PAS pump be cheap enough to have replaced?

Your AUX belt tensioner is loose. When you Power steering pump is at high loads it puts a lot of strain on the alternator and hence causes the belt to slip

Should be fine once you've had a new AUX kit done. Make sure you get it done at a place with the right tools/knowledge

And if it's not that, it could be a top mount catching the shock. Simple fix with a washer that you can get from one of the specialists on ClioSport.

Okay, well good to know it should be sorted when I get the service done. I hope it doesn't die in the mean time.

As for MOT. I'm getting the front wheels off and having a good look at discs/pads, shocks, springs etc tomorrow. I know the rears are okay having done them recently. Wondering what to look out for really, this is my 2nd MOT in my life and I had a hefty bill last year.

Went to Silverstone today to do a couple of taster sessions, although it was wet the Megane seemed to perform really well! Only slight problem was the brake pedal seemed to go a bit soft after a few laps, brakes still worked fine though.

Had the car up on the axle stands today in the gusty wind. Pads and discs look good, CV joints are still good from last years fix, shocks look okay, good tread all round. Rear discs are fairly new and pads have plenty of life. Fairly confident, but I'm sure something will stuff it up and throw a bill in my face.
