Whenever I shut down my pc now I get the little shield above my 'turn off' button telling me that an xp update will be installed when I turn off?

This is usually normal (when actual update have been downloaded) but it happens EVERY time now?

It always says it's installing 1 update?

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

dunno if you are making the same mistake that I did- Have you actually installed the upgrade?
ie: double/right clicked that shield thing and done the installation
I ask because the shield thing actually says that it will install it, but it doesn't, so even if you click that, nothing happens, and its still waiting to install the next time
At least that was the mistaken assumption i made until i did it manually.

    Sorted it.

It was a flash security update of something. Once I deleted flash it vanished. :)

I had a problem with that flash update as well, every time I tried installing it failed.
Just unchecked the install button in the end
