Why do people feel the need to wear clothing with huge logos on them?

I got a pair of cheapo crosshatch jeans that have lasted years,think I.paid £10 or £12

Last 3 pairs I bought were from George, they're suprisingly comfortable and are so far lasting as long as the Levi's. At £14 a pair

Yeah to be fair I've had a few of those cheap Jack Jones and Crosshatch jeans but they're not a match in comfort or durability for Levis.

Because they're so insecure about their own inherent value that they find it necessary to seek validation through the arbitrary values of materialism.

Branded clothing just seems better quality to me. I try to find clothes with a small logo, rather than a big logo plastered on the front though. I remember a thread on here ages ago where everyone was saying clothes from Next or marks and spencer are better than buying branded stuff, so I went to have a look and it was all fairly poor quality, 50% polyester and thin feeling.
