Where can I get a good DVD playing software for my PC? I have wierd lines on my DVD and DivX playback. I can't update Media Player btw because a certain OS isn't genuine. Sorry if this is in the wrong place, didn't know where to put it.

There's a law to do with dvd decoders and because of this I think they're required to charge you for the software. Well, I think I read this, and it'd figure, seeing as I haven't found any decent free DVD players.

    No, I'm a dirty dirty pirate :(

IF you have an nVIDIA graphics card you can use the decoder from their website and just play dvd's in media player. There's a trial of 30 days and then you've gotta buy it to continue using it, take a look.

Try VLC player, plays everything I have ever thrown at it, without downloading extra codecs.
Homepage says it plays DVDs without extra software.

I might be guessing here, but it might be interlacing. Use VLC media player and use the deinterlace function.
