2004 update popped up again today, tried to install but it failed with 0xc1900101 again.

Download and install option remains, I'm just going to ignore it.

Startup Failure: “We removed some recently installed updates…”
Windows 10, version, all editions

Same here, bloody thing BSOD on start up had to repair! I think I'll turn off Windows 10 update if this happens again

Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800F0845: 2020-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 2004 for x64-based Systems (KB4579311).

I had that happen the first time it tried to install, I had to repair it afterwards. Thankfully this time it booted fine after removing the updates and I haven't seen any issues.

So it could have been worse I guess. :(

I wish they could just tell you want the issue is rather than give us a meaningless error code which could be any number of things

None of my PCs have picked it up yet. Has windows 10 20h2 "October" update been released to "normal" users yet (not just insiders)? (I cannot get 2004 yet because of a conexant driver issue!)

I actually had problem this morning taking ages for my PC to boot up and notice in Windows update " error 0x80070002", I finally fixed it by stopping WU, deleting "Sofware Distrubution" folder and enable WU after, check Windows update and it started downloading fine, non computer savvy people would not know what to do, says a lot when Win10 updates messes up your PC when they are supposed to do the opposite.

Btw update was this one, https://betanews.com/2020/10/17/windows-10-kb4579311-cumulative-update-problems/

KB4579311 cumulative update is causing numerous problems for Windows 10 users

Lol title says it all.

20H2 (OS build 19042.572)- What sort of update is that - few minutes start to finish (via Windows update) - and done! All the build up!
