Hi,
I've just got some file sharing working (kinda...). Ive shared some files on my xp machine, and am trying to access them on my windows 7 machine.

on my xp machine, on one hard drive (an external hdd) i can right click, properties, sharing -> share this folder, and it comes up on my windows 7 machine, and i can see the files in it.

but if i share other folders/drives, i can SEE the main folder, but nothing in it (on my win7 machine). I can't work out why some folders can be shared, and some can't. I've set the permissions to read (and also tested at full control)

any ideas?

also how can i put a password on it, or restrict it to only my win7 machine?
