I am having problems with itunes and windows live messanger. They are both up to date. I want to show the messanger "what I am listening too" but it ain't working. I've tried msn plus scripts and it still doesn't. Itunes is my default player. I've tried "when msn starts, it opens main window" and that still didn't work. I have ticked the box and still nothing.

It works fine with windows media player but wmp fails. :(

    I am running W7 Ultimate 64bit. Thanks.

I fixed it, this is what you have to do.
The following steps close the windows media player service.

    To get it working again:

    1. ctr + alt + del
    2. (if this doesn't open the task manager, click task manager)
    3. go to the processes tab
    4. show processes from all users
    5. continue
    6. find wmplayer.exe *32 & WMPSideShowGadget.exe
    7. right click > end process tree (to both)
    8. click end process tree (to both)
    9. close the task manager
    10. check Windows Live Messenger to see if song information is being shown

What happens when you restart the computer though?

I'm guessing I will have to do the same thing, unless I can find a way to stop them 2 programs starting up on boot.

If they are services, turn em off.
