Windows XP install hanging

Long story short - I had to reformat a Sony Vaio FS315M and I've installed a fresh copy of Windows XP Pro on it. After finishing copying files ect it hangs at a blue screen with no disk activity. I hope you can help and thanks in advance.

Did you know this laptop has a built in windows xp recovery partition on the hard drive ?
