Just bought this off ebay:

I'm under no illusions it's worth thousands but it has pull rod brakes instead of cables so I guess it's over 40 years old. Apparently it's called "The Raleigh", I've not collected it yet.

The ad said it has a 24 inch frame, so with those wheels (which look like 26 inch wheels) do you reckon it'll be comfortable for me, being 5 foot 9 with a 30 inch inside leg?

I won't be doing big miles on it but I would like to do little local rides and let family and friends ride it.

My grandad had one of those, except it had a dyno for the lights.

He cycled 12miles a day to the pit on it for as long as i could remember. :)

Collected it on Saturday, it was covered in a thick layer of dust, brakes were seized on and tyres were flat. Incredibly the tyres hold air and after releasing the brakes I was riding it! From the frame number it dates from 1950-1955.
