If all you need is the addition of gigabit ethernet, why not simply buy a gigabit switch, put 1 cable into your current router and have anything that needs gigabit connected to the switch.

I have one and it works very well, both in wired and wireless modes. It is a no brainer really, considering all modern motherboards come with Gigabit LAN as standard.
Transfer speeds are excellent and I've not had a single problem.
