it is but, but what can you do? irony or not, the 7600gt is the better card in all honesty.

not that i can talk, i sold my x800gto2 and im currently running (just) on an onboard x300. its slow as arse, im telling you :( although it IS the fastest clocked o/b x300 in the world:p

Yet, whenever someone does that in an "Nvidia or Nvidia?" thread, you throw a fit.

The irony around here is great sometimes.

There is a difference.

For one in a nv thread that someone starts saying they are after a 7900 GT people pipe up with get a x1800 XT.

When there is no clear reason for doing so.

In this instance there is a reason for stating get the 7600 GT.
That reason being ATI have NOTHING that can compete with it for 117 quid.

And the OP stated his budget was around 100 ;)

i realise that, though i'm a little baffled at your 'widescreen' resolutions comment. i guess that doesnt include 19" widescreen panels, which actually have less screen area than a normal 1280x1024 17"/19" panel?

Well my 7600 GT didn't at 1680 x 1050 so I would imagine that 1440x 900 would be an issue to.

However on my 17" at 1280x1024 it worked a treat but thats not the monitor I game on. :)

i cant see what it would be an issue, i really cant. a 19" widescreen has what, 4% less pixels than a 1280x1024 panel?

1680x1050 is roughly 40% more area than 1050x900 so i can see why a 7600gt would struggle. its not far of the equivelant of gaming @ 1600x1200, which we know a 7600gt isnt the card for.

lol just playing mate. I know a lot opf people buy the 19" widescreens, id hate for them to be put off the screens, or the 7600gt for that matter:)

lol :D

Indeed the 7600 GT is a great card and at 117 is the bargain of the century!
