I've got a cromwell BIOSed xbox running Xebian and freevo. I'm having difficulties with a few things:

I tried to apt-get for codecs (w32codecs was recommended) and it said that there was no available package but it existed in the database (p.s. if anyone knows a good package so I can read RV and Quicktime please let me know).

Certain DVDs kill the system. As soon as it's accessed the DVD to find out the media type it goes into shutdown.

I've done an apt-get update so guess the w32codecs package has changed but can't work out what's wrong with problem 2, any ideas for either?

    Thanks

Scroll down for instructions on how to add the repository. The w32codecs package is in there, as well as other handy things like libdvdcss.
