I'm out of the loop, not having built a pc in about 7 years, so am after some advice please.

I've come up with the following and would appreciate some improvements, also, should I hold out a few months for any new gear coming, or just coming in stock again, also some future proofing would be good?

Some gaming (1080 or 1440 if possible), Folding (needs good cooling) and 25 tabs on Chrome etc.

Fractal Design Meshify C Midi
Asus Prime X570-P
Ryzen 7 3700X or 3600
Asus 1660 Super
Corsair RM 750X
Noctua NH-U12S
Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600 (PC4-28800)

Thanks for any advice.

As the build isn't urgent - I would hold fire for a couple of weeks until the B550s hit the shelves. The build can be tweaked but i would adjust components with board's release in relation to 'then' stock and prices.

Right, the B550's are out and I've adjusted slightly, although I'll keep the ram and GPU, as I already own them and they're good enough for me.

Any comments welcome, cheers.

Go for the 3700X - the 3800X isn’t worth the price jump at all.

Edit: At that price point, I'd go for the X570 Gigabyte Aorus Elite mobo as well.

PSU availability has been getting constantly worser and it's complete quess when stock situation improves and in what models.
These are only stocked models.

Though for AMD's 8 cores and such low end GPU 550W would be plenty.

Unlike in Intel high core count PCs in AMD PCs CPU's max consumption is only part of power draw of high end graphics cards.
Hence unless you'll be later upgrading to high end GPU even 550W is already more than enough.

And performance difference between 3700X and 3800X doesn't justify big price difference.
Basically above 5% price difference would be at edge and 10+% price difference certainly too much.

Also continuous load is where typical fashion marketing pipe coolers aren't impressive per noise comparised to their super high price.
Best dual tower heatsinks basically do better in continuous cooling per noise.
