Must be fairly nippy, the 25. In fairness you don't see many 25 GTI's anymore so it is quite interesting. :)

It's not bad, seems to pull fairly well for its age. Only had it since yesterday so there's much more testing to be done! Part of the reason I bought it was its rarity, only in production from 99-00.

I was tempted by a Celica for the 1.8 VVT engine, however, I remembered seeing a certain thread from a certain someone that made me think twice ;)

Passed my test in 2005, bit of an overlap for some of mine and i'm including the cars I've bought with the Mrs -

'83 Ford Capri 2.8 Injection (still have this, now has a 2.9 24V Cosworth engine fitted but is unfinished)
'96 Rover 220 DS (Used to run it on veg oil)
'95 Peugeot 406 LX 2.0
'97 Rover 220 SDi
'99 Renault Megane 2.0 16V IDE Cabriolet (Still have it sat rotting away, untouched for 2-3 years)
'03 Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi (Still have this as my daily driver with well over 200k on the clock)
'02 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2.7 CRD (This is the Mrs' runaround and our caravan towing holiday wagon)
'03 Ford Mondeo ST220 (Another toy, but practical)

I think there is one of these threads every couple of years. It's always fun to reminisce but, the older I get, the less cars I can remember. Here's my best attempt, car history from 2003 to 2017.

1998 Ford Mondeo Ghia
1997 Vauxhall Omega V6
1993 Citroen ZX 16v
1993 Peugeot 405 SRI
1994 Vauxhall Cavalier
1999 Vauxhall Omega V6
2006 Audi A6 TDI (lease)
1999 Mondeo V6 Ghia X RSAP, ridiculously lowered, cost £460. Loved that thing.
1998 Fiat Coupe 20vt, boost wound right up, loud exhaust, also very much loved until I crashed it
2006 Ford Focus TDCI, bought as a self-imposed penance for crashing the Fiat and nearly killing myself. Didn't last long.
2011 Audi A6 TDI (lease)
2003 Audi RS6 Avant (cost £8k, spent £10k running it, sold for £7k)
1992 VW Golf Rivage Cabriolet, heaviest non-PAS steering of any car I've ever driven
2003 Madgwick Roadster kit car, chassis wasn't square so it crabbed along the road
2009 Audi RS6 v10, the longest I've ever kept a car which says something about how awesome it was. Never missed a beat.
2015 BMW M5 Competition now with cat delete pipes, milltek, remap and ceramics. Just under 700bhp. Still got.
1994 TVR Griffith 500 now with standalone management, uprated injectors, cat delete, almost making the claimed stock power. Still got.
1995 Ferrari 355 Berlinetta with Capristo exhaust. Beautiful retro Ferrari, 27k miles, sounds like an F1 car. Still got.
2014 Ferrari 458 Speciale, Rosso F1 2007, carbon buckets, carbon everywhere, epic in every way. Still got.
2016 Tesla P90D, it's the future but I can never bring myself to walk past the Ferraris and get into it. Currently on sale-or-return with a dealer.
2015 Range Rover Autobiography, wifey's car and the only thing I'm allowed to take the baby in.

... and last but not least, a new addition. My dad (dearly departed) had one 25 years ago and now I have an almost identical example.

1987 Nissan Bluebird ZX Turbo.

Definitely missed a lot of cars here.

99 Ford Ka
2003 BMW 316i
2003 BMW Z4 3.0i
2009 Audi A3 (company car)
2008 Smart Roadster Brabus

Haven't owned a car for 7 years now. Use DriveNow all the time though, so have a fleet of BMW 1s, X1s, i3s and Minis at my beckoning :)

May be tempted back into ownership by the Tesla Model 3, depending on charging situation.

Adz wtf do you do for a living, print money?

I've been in the web hosting industry since 2002.

You'll notice I spent most of my driving career driving fairly crap cars. The thing is, I can't say I enjoyed driving them any less than I do the more exotic machinery.

It's amazing isn't it when you drive a car that's technically inferior but it does nothing for you.
