Camembert but only when it can be handled with a ladle :p

Agree, some of the Normandy Camambert is amazing - having left it for a few days. Otherwise it's tasteless...much like Brie.

Reblochon is similar to Camambert (the Alpine version), again, left out is best. I also like Comte.

None of the mamby pamby poncy arty farty French soft getup. English is best, but I'm currently hooked right on Tescos Canadian mature cheddar. Scores 5/5 for strength by their ratings, but could still be stronger.

I see that as the other way round... some of the English cheeses are quite weak in taste to traditional French cheeses (i.e. those bought in France, not in English Supermarkets trying to replicate French Cheeses to please pathetic English pallets).

However, I do agree that Tesco's Canadian Chedder is quite good, probably the most mature Cheddar you can buy in a Supermarket, certainly that 've found.

By the way, I am English... just travelled :)

Marks and Spencers have some really nice cheeses

I love the cheese and chive (quite strong and crumbly)
I also like Red leicester and most irish mature cheddars.

Ohh and also cracker barrel.

I'm hungry now :o
