How does this setup sound:

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium
Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 Dual Core Processor
4096MB Corsair DDR II 667 Memory
1500GB SATA II Seagate Data Storage – RAID Stripe
NEC 7170 Multi Format DVD/CD ReWriter
ATI Radeon x1650PRO 512MB PCI Express Graphics Card
Intel Core 2 Duo Deluxe Motherboard
Sony Floppy Disk Drive
DVD/CD ROM Drive
12 x USB2 Ports
Firewire

All for £1199 Inc Vat
Pre-built system

I'm basically looking for a replacement for my first build. It kinda has a few problems with it so i'd rather just buy a base unit from somewhere and that way won't have to worry about messing up when building it.
Any input appreciated!

i say its expensive considering you could get a e6600 overclock it to the speeds of a e6700. also:

4g RAM is not quite needed atm, however it depends what you do with your machine i.e. if you are going to be doing a lot of video editing and photoshop work, 3d animation then perhaps its justified...

The Gfx card is not so future with the recent release of dx10 okay sure you can play many games at a high resolution but if you are really spending £1100 on a new system you would like it to be somewhat future proof...

the 1500g Hard drives may be justified depending on how much you download...

I'd advise you to stay away however if you do not have an option to build a system then you will only get deals similar to this so therefore ask yourself what option do you have....unless you want me to build you one :) :)

I would, but i'm kinda looking for a new comp that i can get a warranty on, so if it breaks down i can get it fixed easily. Once i know that i have a comp that works properly and that won't fail me, i can try fixing my first rig knowing that if i muck that up i'll still hav a working comp. Kinda long-winded i kno :(

That looks much better value than the first one you posted.

It'd still recommend building your own though.

For comparison with the second one you posted, this system has a far superior graphics card and probably a much better motherboard although information is lacking there. The parts do lend themselves to overclocking though. :)

That does look good! Definitely worth considering
what is the OC-ing potential of the Intel Core 2 DUO E6400 though?

It has an 8x multiplier so if you run the Ram at its rated speed (PC6400 which equates to 400mhz actual) then 3.2ghz is achievable and quite probably more although the stock cooler will start to hold you back after a certain point. I don't know how long you could keep using the stock cooler or if it would even be capable up to 3.2ghz but the chip is likely to be capable of it or near enough. No guarantees of course but that is part of the fun of overclocking. :)
