GeForce GTX 1080 PHOENIX Goes Like Hell 8192MB GDDR5X PCI-Express Graphics Card

NVIDIA’s flagship GeForce® GTX 1080 is the most advanced gaming GPU ever created, powered by the high-performance, energy-efficient new NVIDIA Pascal™ architecture. Pascal enables truly game-changing performance with captivating sights and sounds, as well as next-generation VR performance that offers the lowest latency and plug-and-play compatibility with leading headsets.

NVIDIA Ansel Technology exclusive to 10 series allows you to grab a screenshot in supporting games such as The Divsion and upcoming Unreal Tournament from any 360 degree position, ability to increase resolution, use cool filters so that you can screenshot those perfect headshots and view them in a full 360 degrees.

NVIDIA VR AUDIO Works Technology exclusive to 10 series is interative audio so realistic path traced audio meaning sound bounces off objects just like it would in the real world further improving the gaming experience on the audio side.

NVIDIA GeForce 10 series is based on 16nm finfet architecture resulting in just 180W TDP power consumption for a graphics card that can outperform Titan X in many situations whilst being upto three times more efficient. Overclocking headroom is also exceptional with around 2GHz core overclocks being possible (not guaranteed) resulting in 20% and higher overclock potential.

NVIDIA Simultaneous Multi-Projection Technology renders multi screens in one path mean performance in Virtual Reality titles on VR headsets such as HTC Vive and Oculos results in double the performance of Titan X making 10 series the King of Virtual Reality and whilst being upto three times more efficient at the same time.

An incredible card

I bought this to replace two GTX 980s (Not the Ti variant). I was getting fed up with the SLI configuration and the heat generated by them.

This card far exceeds what I thought I would actually get. For the first time I am able to run the Arkham Knight on full 4K with all the extras turned on and it does not lag at all (I used to especially notice the sound/lip sink discrepancies).

This card is Silent and generates far less heat than my previous setup.

Very happy

Boosts to 1999mhz straight out of the box in maxed out Doom on 1440p@1440hz without any frame limitation in place. Have not tried OCing yet.

From Air Cooled card this or Zotac are the ones to buy in this generation so far.

Goes Like Hell out the box

Swapped to this card after waiting 6 weeks for the elusive Strix OC and was not disappointed.

First thing to note is that it is a big card, much bigger than the 980 it is replacing so check it will fit before you get it. It also has a substantial RGB LED on the side that fortunately is easily to change the colour of with the Gainward software or to turn off entirely.

The important thing about this card is its speed out the box, thanks to its massive cooler it was hitting 2.05 Ghz boost on its default fan profile and was virtually inaudible. By changing to a custom fan profile with 40-60% speed and no other changes it is hitting 2.1Ghz and staying there for stress tests.

Looks like this time around it is all about the cooling meaning the best cards no longer sit with the big names we are all use to. If you are not going SLI then this is a great card.

Awesome card

I went for this card after waiting too long for Asus cards. What a great card, it's so quiet i thought it wasn't working. Performance is amazing and everything i had hoped for from a top card. Really happy!!

So I've never bought a top tier card before and certainly not at launch but wow! Coming from a heavily overclocked GTX 970 where at 1440 I had to turn a couple of graphical settings down a notch or two to get smooth gameplay, now I can play everything I own at maximum settings and not break a sweat!

The card boosts much further than the advertised 1885MHz. In my case it boosts to a solid 2050MHz and stays there. There is also some headroom for further tweaking but in reality, it's not required.

The cooler is substantial but this has to be the quietest card I've owned, more so than my previous MSI Twin Frozr in my opinion. Under full load the loudest thing in my system is the water pump!

I would fully recommend one of these cards.
