990XA-UD3 AMD 990X (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard

The 990XA-UD3 motherboard is designed to offer a stable, high-speed platform for delivering amazingly fast data transfer via the GIGABYTE 333 onboard acceleration technologies. Featuring the USB3.0 controller, AMD 900 series motherboards allow users to take advantage of super fast USB transfer rates of up to 5Gbps, delivering 10x faster data transfer compared to USB 2.0. Utilizing the industry's first Serial ATA Revision 3.0 solution via AMD SB950 chipset, GIGABYTE AMD 900 series motherboards offer native 6 ports of next generation high speed data storage devices support with data transfer speeds of up to 6 Gbps with RAID 0, 1, 5, 10. The AMD 900 series motherboards introduce a unique hardware design with lower resistance fuses for ensuring lower voltage drops and providing more stable and plentiful power delivery. All USB ports also benefit from a 3x power boost for better power delivery to power hungry USB devices.

Runs hot but seems very good

Had this board for a week now. As others have said the northbridge HS does get very hot. It doesn't get any residual airflow from the CPU cooler in my setup because my CPU is water cooled so I've had to put an 80mm fan over it. It did seem to cope without that though - no crashes etc but it just makes me feel better :)

Build wise the board seems fine to m. Gigabyte pride themselves on this "Ultra durable" technology. I had an ultra durable board prior to this one that's done very well and this one seems to be every bit as good.

The only minor issue I've had is the USB3.0 ports don't pick up one of my USB3 devices properly (although others work fine). I think this is a driver issue and currently have a support call open with Gigabyte for this.

be careful

bought this when on offer as a best bang for buck board... feels pretty flimsy and with it not coming with enough mounting pins so had to leave one corner off it is very flexy when fitting cables so take care... colour is a bit naff the next board up is a lot better if u care for looks... but so far works ok no other issues... would swop for nxt up if i hadn`t already installed it

Another great GB board

As usual, Gigabyte offer a high standard board at a price that beats most 900 series boards (sub-

Works perfectly

Runs my 1100T at 3.7Ghz perfectly, no problems whatsoever. Would recommend.

Only 4 stars, because compared to ASUS QFan the fan speed controls are not even close, so much harder to control noise levels from case fans in particular

Good MB

I was a little worried reading reports about heat problems after I had ordered this MB, but I can safely say now that this MB is running great and a big improvement in all areas compared to the GA-880GM-UD2H I was running, no heat problems here, easy to fit, running with AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition (26oc idle) stock settings, and Corsair XMS3 8GB, can highly recommend.

Great board

Had this for about a month now not had one problem! it started off a bit hot with it hitting late 40c now its down to 30c and my AMD 555 clocked at 3.7 sitting at 25c idle (could prob run it without my fan) i would recommend this for a good stable solid 990 chipset!

Excellent M'Board

As usual Gigabyte maintain a high standard and excellent quality at a price that beats most i7s. From experience i have been using this manufacturer now for over 5 years and not one has failed, unlike a few other "cheap'n'nasty" boards i could mention.
Got my 1090T and 16Gb 1866ddr3 running on this board with 6670 Radeon..... Outstanding !! next project.... The World!!! lol

Poor performance

Runs so hot it doesn't let me overclock my Phenom II 955, which sits at 46 under load, but mobo is at 70 under stress.
