Aorus GeForce GTX 1080TI 11264MB GDDR5X PCI-Express Graphics Card

The Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Aorus 11G is equipped with the very latest WindForce 3X cooler and runs on the renowned Pascal architecture. The GPU boasts 11GB GDDR5X Memory, a massive 11 GB frame buffer, 1708 MHz OC Boost Clock, RGB Fusion Lighting and a specially designed black metal backplate.

Aorus graphic cards feature the very latest in technologies and this model in particular is perfectly suited to VR thanks to AORUS VR Link that adds an additional front facing HDMI port to compliment the already plentiful rear IO. Supporting multiple monitors and an 8K resolution at 60Hz the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Aorus 11G really does enable an incredible gaming experience in both VR and in a 'standard' gaming environment.

Aorus has engineered an 'all around' cooling solution that not only protects the GPU but also the VRAM and MOSFET, ensuring stable performance and a longer operating life. The key internal components are not only cooled by the acclaimed WINDFORCE 3X tri fan cooling module but interfaced with larger copper plates that dissipate heat a magnitude faster than previous models.

With 16.7m colour options and a variety of lighting effects the integrated RGB Fusion will allow the card to perfectly blend with your systems unique style.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Graphics Card Overview

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card is based on the GP102-GPU Pascal architecture and is the flagship GPU of the GeForce GTX 10-series. Employing a massive 11 GB of VRAM, 3584 CUDA cores as well as a minimum boost clock of 1582MHz, the GTX 1080 Ti was made for 4K/UHD-resolution gaming, and represents an excellent choice for experiencing the best that Virtual Reality has to offer - as demanded by HMDs like the HTC Vive.

Forged with the new 16-nm FinFET manufacturing process, the GPU fits 12 billion transistors onto the 471 mm² GP1102 die. The 16 nm process, in combination with the Pascal architecture, also permits a notable reduction in power consumption over previous generations with a 250 Watt TDP.

The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card is equipped with 11 GB GDDR5X VRAM which is connected to the chipset using a 384-bit memory interface. GDDR5X VRAM has a 50% higher bandwidth when compared to GDDR5 VRAM which, combined with the high memory clock frequencies, allows a memory bus bandwidth of 484 GB/s.

Virtual Reality and 4K gaming with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti

Simultaneous Multi-Projection 4.0 (SMP) allows the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti to conserve geometry-rendering performance by rendering multiple perspectives (known as "Viewports") in a single pass. The Pascal architecture supports up to 16 Viewports simultaneously. SMP is primarily of interest to users of Virtual Reality (VR) and can massively improve the performance of the GTX 1080 TI during VR-related applications when compared to its predecessors.

One component of SMP 4.0 is known as Lens-Matched Shading (LMS). LMS optimises image rendering and prevents parts of the image unseen by the user (Due to Headset limitations) to remain unrendered.

Asynchronous Compute is the simultaneous execution of both the necessary calculations and render requests - This is especially relevant in the context of APIs like DirectX 12 or Vulkan. As a result, faster and more efficient communication between the CPU and GPU occurs. Pascal architecture is designed to allow the GTX 1080 Ti to pause calculations and buffer them, also known as "pre-emption".

Asynchronous Timewarp and Interleaved Reprojection technologies are techniques utilised by VR HMDs to prevent frame-rates falling below 90 Hertz. Asynchronous Compute allows the GP102 GPU to better prioritise these rendering techniques to guarantee an incredible VR experience.

Card for the next 3/4 years.

since I only play 144hz @ 1080p and will probably upgrade to a 144hz @ 1440p this is more than enough for me. Excellent card.

I'm not normally one to leave a review but having installed this beast I was blown away by the sheer performance. I have alsways been an AMD fanboy but I'm truely converted now! 11GB of RAM. Picked this up during a slight discount and I'm a very happy customer. The free sweets are always a bonus!

Great card

When I first ordered this card I had a card with a bent heat sink after sending it back to OCUK I got a new one without a damaged sink. Great service from UCUK for the speedy replacement. It's a shame that all the nasty miners were trying to buy as many cards as they can which made prices go. Maybe Nivida will do a range of card just for mining and the gaming card range will have a built failsafethat will brick the card if it detects mining software and the only way to unbrick the card would be to send it back to Nvidia and the miners would only get 2/3 of the money back. Something like that would be nice to reduce the prices so gamers can enjoy building a rig and not think about how much one card cost them!

Just Awesome

This 1080 TI card is everything I thought it would be, running idle @28c - 0 Fan-Speed, I've not seen it go over 44c in the Game Second Life @ Max Graphic + shadows.

Steam Games with Max Graphics setting on all Games, not seen the card go over 52c - 40% Fan Speed and no fan noise at all.

In fact, my NZXT x62 Kraken AIO is the only thing I can just about hear, So I'm totally thrilled with buying this card.

If you are thinking of buying this card, then I'd say,... Go right ahead, you'll not regret it,...

I have the RGB lighting set to GPU temp, So when the card is cool, the lighting is green and it'll change colour the hotter it gets, a far better solution than overlaid on the display when playing games, Personally, I hate anything else on my screen when gaming.

Still not sure how to activate the 4-year warranty though, The card arrives with a 3-year warranty and you're supposed to be able to register the card online for that extra year?

Anyway, all in all, I'm very happy with the buy from Overclockers, because, I know if anything did ever go wrong, then Overclockers have me covered!

Fantastic card - with recorded unboxing and overview

Freshly purchased to get the most of today's offerings in graphics card department.
The card itself is very sturdy, most of the elements are metal. The card, while being 3 slot wide, does not flex down at all and it holds itself nicely just by 2 screws in back slots.

I've recorded a short onboxing and overview video on my channel G-Fudge Gaming.
If the link doesn't work, just look me up.

coil whine

Got the GPU, overall it runs great, performance is outstanding only beef i have with it, is once your past 60% fan speed or 70c temps depending on the GPU load and OC you get some really loud coil whine which can be heard through my G933 Headset so be warned if you have an open case system or pc close to you this might be a hindrance to you

Beast of a card

I upgraded from 2x 970 in SLI and this card smokes them easily, 4k gaming is completely doable (even tho I game at 2k) and with GTA V maxed out and mods I'm getting like 79fps average

there is no denying this is an expensive card but the for me the boost you get over a standard 1080 is worth the spend

Quiet and cool for a very powerful graphics card

What can I say, other than this is probably the best graphics card I've ever owned (and I've had all the top-end cards from the last 4-5 years!). Not only is it damned fast (powers my 3840x1600 res with ease), but it's also quiet and cool in the process.

Gigabyte have definitely brought their A-game to the Aorus Ti cards, they're absolutely stunning!

10/10 from me, for sure B|

Simon Crutchley 2017-04-21

Absolutely brilliant.

Set at an constant 60% fan profile, the highest temp I've recorded is 63c! You can hardly hear the fans.

OC'd an extra 80mhz on top of the factory OC, for an average of 2038-2050. Very happy.
