Aorus Radeon RX 570 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

The Gigabyte Radeon RX 570 Aorus 4G with semi-passive Windforce cooler reaches a base clock of 1.280 MHz, which can be boosted up to 1.295 MHz. The 4 GB GDDR5 VRAM is clocked at 3.500 MHz (7.000 MHz) and is connected to the GPU via a 256-Bit memory interface. An 8-Pin power connector supplied the TBD long graphics card with the necessary power and a power supply capable of delivering 450 Watts is recommended.

Gigabyte's WindForce 2X cooler design sets the copper heatpipes directly against the GPU. The heat transferred to the aluminium-finned heatsink is exhausted via two fans. Should the GPU be operating at below maximum load and in need of less cooling, the fans will slow or switch off completely. This enables the quietest possible operation of the graphics card.

The AMD Radeon RX 570 (4 GB) in Detail

The Radeon RX 570 is AMD's premium HD gaming graphics card from the RX 500 graphics card series and is especially attractive for price-conscious gamers or owners of FreeSync monitors. The Polaris 20 graphics chip utilised in the RX 570 series is a "refresh" of the Polaris 10 architecture used in the RX 470 and offers the same number of shaders as its predecessor, 2.048 to be specific. Thanks to optimisations in the manufacturing process the Radeon RX 570 brings higher maximum boost clocks than its equivalents in the RX 400 series.

Based on AMD's fourth-gen GCN architecture and manufactured in the 14 nm FinFET-LPP process, the Radeon RX 570 also has a very low TDP of just 120 Watt. This has been made possible through huge technological leaps in control-, power saving and clock-rate technologies, and the contrast in power usage between this card and its preceding models such as the Radeon R9 390 (250 Watt TDP) makes for a noticeable improvement.

The 4th-gen Graphics Core Next architecture (GCN 1.3) introduces features such as a command processor, a geometry processor, new multimedia cores, an optimised display engine as well as an improved memory controller. Some of the supported technologies include Async Compute, Vulkan, DirectX 12 and AMD's FreeSync technology.

Monitors can be connected to the graphics card via DVI-D, Display-Port or HDMI. EyeFinity technology enables up to four monitors to be connected in a multi-display setup. The HDMI connector utilises HDMI 2.0b to allow playback of 4K/UHD resolution multimedia at 60 Hz and offers HDCP 2.2 for sending and receiving encrypted signals.

In order for the card to reach its maximum potential, new drivers should be downloaded and installed at regular intervals from the AMD or Gigabyte websites.

1080 gaming perfection

I bought this to replace my aged AMD 7970 and I was not disappointed. I run an old i5 2500k @ 4.5Ghz cpu and was looking for a card that wouldn't get bottle necked. i found it.

Doom maxed out settings at 60fps. Elite Dangerous maxed out over 60fps and Arma 3 with its dreaded CPU limitation actually got a decent frame rate boost on the Tanoa island.

I am waiting to upgrade my system but 5 years in the 2500k is still a beast for gaming. The Gigabyte Aorus Radeon RX 570 has allowed me to futher extend the life of probably the best CPU every made. Very happy and the price is a steal.
