Mainstream motherboard (Micro-ATX) with AMD B350 Chipset, with 1x PCIe 3.0 x16 & 1x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4), 1x M.2 (PCIe 3.0 x4) & 6x SATA 6G, 2x USB 3.1 & 6x USB 3.0 Motherboards with the AM4 socket serve as the platform for the AMD Ryzen (Summit Ridge) quad-core, hexa-core and octa-core CPUs as well as "Bristol Ridge" and "Raven Ridge" desktop APUs from the A-series with integrated GPUs unlike the old Athlon X4 which came without an iGPU. The advanced AMX X370, B350 and A320 chipsets are aimed at the enthusiast, mainstream and entry-level segments coming with an abundance of modern I/O interfaces and connectors for hardware peripherals, while additional data links are provided by the GPU/APU.

The Gigabyte GA-B350M-Gaming 3 is a motherboard utilising the Micro-ATX format and comes with a lightning-fast 16x PCI-Express 3.0 slot with x16 lanes. Furthermore there is a PCIe 2.0 x4 slot available as well as a PCIe x1 slot for additional expansion cards. The four RAM slots can accept up to 64 GB DDR4- RAM at a maximum speed of 3200 Megahertz. The range of internal connectors includes, among other things, a header for USB 3.0 and two headers for USB 2.0 for two and four ports respectively.

A further highlight of the Gigabyte GA-B350M-Gaming 3 includes both USB 3.1 ports on the I/O shield as well as RGB-LED lighting and 4-pin LED headers. Last but not least the board can support five 4-pin PWM fans connected directly to the motherboard. To the rear of the motherboard is located an I/O shield which offers access for additional devices and components via USB 3.0 and 2.0, Gigabit LAN, universal PS/2 or five audio jacks and an S/PDIF output for connecting audio to the Gigabyte GA-B350-Gaming 3. The motherboard also supports display output via integrated APU-GPU (optional) with two monitor outputs: HDMI and DVI-D.

Great little board

Ryzen 1600 / Trident Z 3200 @ 3200 (red/black)

Great little board; comes with all you'd expect, a I/O shroud, SATA cables, software CD etc

Comes with; if i remember right, bios v3? Before hand, id downloaded the latest(7a) and copied the files to a USB to update the BIOS, which was easily done with the q-flash option.

Over-clocking? havent dived in deep yet, but (lazily?!) the XMP, is actually the AMD equiv; and with it, i was able to run @ 3200/1596.2mhz (16-18-18-38-56) It seems i may have to disabled some features to allow for manual tuning? So the "auto" CPU "overclock" isnt really...seeing my Ryzen go higher than 3.4Ghz.

Overall - the boards a nice little cheap thing you cant go wrong with, as per their support page they actually are compatible with a range of hardware. Connectors are located nicely, easy to reach - though the 90 degree SATA connectors may be a pain for some in the wrong case ;). The BIOS is easy to faff around with - though, one con, and its a biggy - its software; it isnt really, streamlined or AIO; theres about 600 different software app(jokingly) for a few tasks, and its "app centre" - abit unnecessary if you ask me.

Eh, it's alright.

If you're using windows and don't plan on spending much time in the UEFI portion of the board, it'll be fine. I have a Ryzen 5 1600 and some 3200MHz ram.

I am only able to get the ram to work at 2666MHz with this motherboard.

A much bigger issue though is the fact the motherboard is somehow incompatible with Linux. On contacting Gigabyte asking about this, I was basically told to go away because they only care about Windows.

The UEFI interface/options available are awful too. Full of strange bugs/issues. Hope a BIOS update comes along and fixes these problems. If you're planning on using some form of Linux distro, feel free to google this motherboard model followed by "Opensuse" to find my issues with it elsewhere on the internet. You'll likely be better served by one of the other boards.

Giga saved my life

Love the padded , no bent metal shards, i o back plate. First time i have seen this. Brill!
3 fan headers, should be the standard at least on micro's and yet asus throw out a micro with 2.
I could not load windows, it kept locking up, so I took one memory stick out ( Kingston Fury Black 16GB DDR4 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit ) and it worked. Updated bios and now working flawlessly with 2 x 8gig.
So i do recommend this board for sure, has more phases then some thanks alex or is it alec?
As we all know jumping on new hardware is a nightmare. This board and my memory with a Ryzen 1700 is brilliant no qualms in ditching my skylake build. Love yo Amd for bringing competition back to the table, we needed you
