Works Just fine

Previous review suggests it doesn't like KVM switches. Works just fine with mine, ATEN CS22u. So long as it is the active device at power up.

Overall, the board has been working with no problems for a week. I'm using the integrated graphics with an iCore 3 and 4Gb of Ram. I don't play games, but video editing and re-formatting has been great. CPU currently at 14 deg C in room that is 20 deg? It did reach 41 deg after 2 hours of constant video rendering at 90 % CPU activity.

Like the autodetect and re-mapping of sound jacks when I plugged my 5.1 system in.

Slightly foxed by the LAN reporting problems until I ran the drivers disk. I thought Windows would have sorted that out itself, as it seemed to handle everything else, but looking back, Windows also struggled with the monitor resolutions until I ran the drivers disk.

In summary, great value.

Good board but be careful...

The CPU socket is quite close to the RAM slots, so if you use a cooler which has a fan which sticks out a long way (such as the freezer pro rev2) it will overhang the slots. This may not be a problem with normal ram, but tall ram such as dominator (has heatsink fins) will get in the way - I will be unscrewing tonight to see if that helps.

Otherwise my freezer pro will be going passive (in a mini P180 so it's ok) so I can fill both channels.

Really worth considering

A solid, physically well made board. Easy to fit. Upgradet the BIOS the board before using it for anything, the firmware on it was very old. The process is really easy with instructions on the gigabyte web site. You don't get any cable headers, so a serial header and maybe a couple of USB's might be a good idea. I've put an Intel i3 processor in this board and it is really nice a quick. As a pairing I think it is great value for money. But, it just doesn't like working with a KVM. I've tried two different PS2 KVM's and the video is not detected correctly and the board just emits a mournfull cry through the PC speaker when you boot up. No KVM, no problem. The single PS2 socket does not seem to want to split, so USB mouse and keyboard only.
