Excellent card for gaming

Chose this card for my first Gaming PC build, Picked it up on a really good deal. My original choice was a 1060 due to price. But on Black Friday, this card was on too good a deal to pass up.

I've been playing Witcher 3 on ultra settings at 1440p and comfortably hover just over the 60fps mark. on dishonoured 2 I was getting between 70-90fps on Ultra at 1440p. I wasn't sure if this card could handle 1440p and Ultra settings, but it does, easily.

When dropping to High and 1080p, this card was consistently hitting 100fps+ on every game I threw at it. I read a lot of professional reviews before purchasing, and all I can say is that I've been getting better results than them (perhaps they are much more tough with their benchmarking?)

Awesome card

I purchased one of these BadBoy's back in October 2016.I stepped up from a 970 and Im well pleased with it,will definitely grab another once the price drops around £350ish range.
High Recommend.

AH! Silence!

Coming from a ASUS GTX970 I hadn't really expected too much, but really this 1070 is amazing.

Firstly, what really surprised me is how cool it runs and how quiet it is. This is so much quieter than the 970. I had gotten used to the 970 whirring away while I was playing games, but this card is like a breath of fresh air. It's sitting here now, idle, at 34 degrees C, and it runs all my games so far never getting above 56 degrees. Admittedly my case is very well ventilated, but the GTX 970 was running at a much lower frame rate, yet was sometimes hitting 70 degrees and making so much noise you wouldn't believe it.

Seriously, just from a noise aspect, this card is well worth the money!

I agree with the last reviewer that you do still need a 1070 for 1080p gaming. Some games will run very fast but some won't. Most online games that have tons of players seem to be the same ~ you can get so many players in one place your graphics card will really struggle. Certainly falling well below 60fps, even below the acceptable limit of 30fps. The 1070 is maintaining double the fps of the 970 in those situations. There is one location in one game I play that is always full of players and the 970 used to desperately struggle to manage 13fps. The 1070 maintains 27fps. And that really, really makes a difference. Those horrible moments when a game slows down, this card could well save your life!! It will certainly save your ears.

Perfect for max 1080p 60fps

If you want a card that delivers 60 fps at 1080p with all settings on ultra this is the card to do it. Don't believe ill informed people who say this card is overkill at 1080p because it really isn't . I had a 1060 before this card and I had to make compromises to even get close to a consistent 60 fps. This is just perfectly smooth and the perfect upgrade comjng from a 670. Witcher 3 ultra even with hairworks never flinches.
The only downside I have found so far is that the card suffers from terible coil whine but is otherwise very quiet and even silent when the fans turn off. Temperatures hover around a perfect 60. Far cooler than the 1060 I had. Amazing given the power on tap.
As usual, excellent service from overclockers. I got the card on a b grade deal for 329 which is a really great price to pay for such a good 1070. 5 stars all the way

was going to talk about how fast this card is and how well it performs but honestly if you are looking at it you already know.
what i will say tho is overclockers have once again came through for me and proved to be among the best in the world so a huge thank you to you guys :)
customer support is amazing if you have any questions or want some clarification anything at all the team is brilliant at helping and
unlike some sites who i wont mention they don't over charge because they have stock or under price when they don't.
overclockers has always had exactly what i wanted, when i wanted and at the price i wanted so honestly cant say enough thanks for making me
such a happy customer time and time again :) ok i cant not say it, yes this card is fast and really smart in gta v it boosted to 1.945ghz all on its
own giving 80fps with absolutely every option turned up (ultra+++ settings) performance aside i am almost tempted to buy another just to keep as a table ornament it is such a lovely and tactile gpu

Gigabyte delivers yet again with their elite OC model

The price may be high but you really do get what you pay for with this card. Straight out of the box it has an automatic overclock that beats a standard 1080GTX just like every x70 OC card has before, except this time with the same amount of vRAM. It plays everything I own at 1080p 60fps Vysnc Ultra+ with zero issues, including The Witcher 3, DOOM, Blacklist and Crysis 3. I upgraded from a humble Gigabyte Windforce 670GTX OC and I'm happy to say that a humble 3570K is more than capable of keeping up with this card no matter what game I throw at it.

If you have a 2500k/3570k level of processor and are worried about taking a huge upgrade on the GPU front because you think there may be bottlenecks, you have nothing to fear. It seems as though CPUs are still far ahead of GPUs.

The fan upon the first installation was extremely loud however, seemingly sitting at 100% speed for no reason, however this was quickly fixed with a system format. This does not mean that you will have this issue, I am 95% sure it was a fault on my end that caused this. Now I am happy to report that the card sits on extremely low temperatures and fan speed no matter what. Playing Diablo 3 which is a fairly intensive game on effects, the 'FAN STOP' light is lit which means the card is not running hot enough to require the fans to even be turned on.

It's simply amazing technology.

Amazing card at a good price

I had the Asus DirectCU II OC 780 GTXTI and noticed games such as Rise of the Tombraider, DOOM and Batman Arkham knight would not run on max settings like all my other games at a good frame rate. So i was sad and needed my ULTRA settings fix. After some searching i came across this card. I wanted a 1080 but it was out of my price range so opted for the 1070. I bought the G1 Gaming as didn't fancy the Founders edition cards....
Now onto the card itself. It is quite simply stunning. I thought yeah my upgrade for the 780 would be ok but this just destroys it, all the games as mentioned above on max settings running at amazing frames per second to the likes i have never seen! It is slightly louder than the 780ti but don't even notice it when you have your sound on!
I have to say i was gobsmacked im so glad i went for this card over the 980ti i was considering. I would have liked to have gotten a 1080 but at this price this card is simply the best value for money.
I bench-marked Rise of the Tombraider with my current rig and was averaging 101.04 fps on max settings.
If your looking to upgrade but don't have the monies for the 1080 i highly recommend this card!
