Excellent cards - got lucky!

I purchased two of these to run in SLI. They run 4k at max settings at 60fps which is my goal. They performed out of box and OC'd much better than my MSI 980Ti 6g card due to a much better asic rating. Going custom WC loop with both so hoping I can get a very solid and stable oc way under 70degC with these in SLI. They will both hit 1570mhz core/2000mhz mem.

Purchased this card from Overclockers, Absolutely amazing beast of a card. Beats out the Fury X comfortably, slightly ahead of the Titan X thanks to its awesome ability to do some Overclocking which is made all to easy using the Gigabyte Guru software, Flex Display, Super Over Clock, and a Duel Bios....What else do you need.

Great card but noisy fans

I bought 2 of these. I've tested them in 1080p and 4k. The results are brilliant. They have no trouble playing the latest games (Witcher 3, BF4, Skyrim, Farcry 4) on ultra settings.

- Plays all games on ultra settings
- Ahead of the Titan X in terms of FPS in games
- Keeps cool under load
- Overclocks very well
- Ability to change Windforce logo with the OC Guru 2 software
- Fans don't turn on until 55c is reached

- Very long, even with a full tower size case. (I had to change my waterloop to accommodate the size)
- Noisy fans under load (Search "Gigabyte Gaming G1 980 Ti fan speed sound test" on youtube for an example)

Notes: Quite a few people have reported coil whine, however I'm yet to experience this.

How they look in full tower case:

Purchased this GPU as a replacement for my Gigabyte WF 7950 x3, the aesthetics of the card i found to be fantastic but one thing to take note of is the White LED is more of a tainted green. The actual performance seemed very reasonable but the noise around 55%+ fan speed was rather intrusive compared to what reviews stated. I will not be purchasing another Gigabyte branded card as my previous 7950 also had similar issues (Coil whine was present but i was kind of used to it from my 7950).

Upgraded from 2x Geforce 670 in SLI to one of these and the difference is amazing.
I can run Witcher 3 with Ultra settings, at 2560x1600 at steady 60 fps.
Got 8900+ in Firestrike Extreme, that's with my aging I7 970 (6core) @ 4.2ghz.
Overclocked to 1500 core and 7900 memory at temps max out at 72c during very heavy load but the fans barely make a sound. Very impressive.
Excellent service from OCUK as always.

Excellent Perfect Single Card for 1440p

Quiet, cool and fast
Judged against my old Gigabyte GTX 780 This card gives me about a 45% increase in performance
I can now play Witcher 3 with settings at post high and ultra ( Hairworks off ) on my 32" 2560x1440 monitor and get 60 fps.
I do not have coil whine in fact it's quieter than the GTX 780 at load and my case fans 200mm are now the loudest sound

Very expensive but a great single high end card

Great card

Well lets put it simple like
With a basic overclock to core +147mhz and ram +890mhz. volts were not changed
I got second highest card ever test on Heaven bench test max temp reached 63c
Need I say more

Great card, but longer in size than expe

I am sure it's a great card, but it turned out to be too long in for my desktop case which previously housed GTX 980 reference just fine.

Before you buy make sure that you can actually fit this card, from the spec -

- Dimensions: L=282mm, W=110mm, H=43mm

Reference GTX 980 sample dimentions -

- Dimensions: 268.6 x 98.4 x 40 mm

There should really be a product warning that it might not fit in the case!

I'll keep the card until August when I plan to get new PC.

Amazing GPU, Almost silent Operation

I was lucky enough to buy one of these on Friday 19th June and received it today Monday 22nd.
The card is big so just be careful, upgraded from 780ti.
Installation was a breeze other than the backplate make sure if you have a pcie or pci slot above your first pcie 16 slot the backplate can be a bit of a squeeze if the card you have in is to large, i have a asus ac 68 pci wifi card above it and it was tight. Also download the OC guru software from gigabyte to change led colour and also default or OC mode. (Use OC Mode get better performance with very little change to temps)
Out of the box without any tweaks the card achieves 1404mhz boast on OC mode which is massive jump from the standard clock speeds. I am sure i could get more with tweaks but with the boast i am getting i dont see the point.
Fans stay off until the card hits 60c and even when they are on full speed they are not overpowering. yes you can hear them but not where they would be bothered much about it. after a brief run on witcher 3 the card barely hit 64C so fans were at about 20% so inaudible, my h100i is the loudest thing in my case and that's not loud at all.
If you are thinking about buying a 980ti look no further. It is a expensive upgrade but well worth it.

  • Bit-Tech - Premium Grade

"There truly is very little to dislike about this graphics card. It has exceptionally high build quality all round, is extremely fast out of the box and able to go significantly faster still with some manual tinkering. Overclocked, it was up to 25 percent quicker than a reference card, which is seriously impressive. Add in the customisable LED backlit logo, the semi-passive fans and the extra DVI port for good measure and you have a drool-worthy package indeed."

  • OC3D - Gold

"...the combination of totally silent running at idle, quiet and cool running even under extreme loadings, easy overclocking and the ability to have the logo light whichever colour takes your fancy coupled with its monochrome styling means you can actually use this feature to the fullest without having a mismatched system, making it something you should seriously consider"
