Z370-HD3 Intel Z370 (Socket 1151) DDR4 ATX Motherboard
The Gigabyte Z370-HD3 is an ATX motherboard utilising Intel's Z370 chipset for Intel's 8th generation Coffee Lake processors that use Socket LGA 1151. The Z370 chipset is a refresh of "Kaby Lake" chipsets which also come with a maximum of 24 PCI-Express 3.0 lanes as well as plenty of HSIO lanes (High Speed I/O) in order to be able to use a range of internal connections simultaneously (e.g. SATA or PCIe slots). As a Z370 motherboard, the Gigabyte Z370-HD3 also enables overclocking of K-series CPUs which come with an unlocked multiplier.
The Features of the Gigabyte Z370-HD3 at a Glance:
- 3× PCIe (3.0) x16 (x16/x4/x4) & 3× PCIe x1
- 8× USB 3.0 / 6× USB 2.0
- 1× M.2 (PCIe 3.0 x4) / 6× SATA 6G
- Supports max. 64 GB DDR4-RAM at 2.666 MHz
- Integrated LED lighting in yellow
- Easy CPU overclocking via multiplier
The Gigabyte Z370-HD3 in Detail
The Gigabyte Z370-HD3 is an ATX motherboard with a range of connectivity options and a modern Z370 chipset from Intel which supports their 8000- series processors. The board comes with three PCIe x16 slots, one of which is connected to the chipset with 16 full lanes while the other is connected with four. The board also supports AMD's CrossFireX technology to allow users to install multiple graphics cards. For upgrades and expansion cards the motherboard cmoes with three PCIe x1 slots.
Equipped with a total of four DIMM slots for DDR4 RAM running in fast Dual-Channel Mode, up to 64 GB of RAM can be installed in the four memory banks. The Coffee Lake processors support frequencies of 2.666 MHz. For connecting storage devices, the motherboard comes with an M.2 slot for NVMe compatibility as well as six SATA 6G connectors for 3.5"- or 2.5" hard drives and -SSDs (incl. RAID support). The M.2 ports are connected over four 3.0 standard PCIe lanes to allow, when paired with a compatible drive, data transfer rates of nearly 4 GB/s. This makes M.2 PCIe SSDs up to eight times faster than SATA 6G SSDs!
The I/O panel of the motherboard provides connecitivity with input devices and other gaming peripherals by means of four USB 3.0- and two USB 2.0 ports. In addition to an Intel I219V Gigabit LAN port, this board comes with six 3.5 mm jacks which provide incredible 7.1 sound thanks to the Realtek ALC892 chip. If no graphics card is available, the CPU can provide integrated graphics via the HDMI and DVI-D outputs. Internal connectivity options include a range of headers for USB, fans, LEDs and more. Of course, no motherboard would be complete without LED lighting, and for that reason the board comes with yellow lighting zones to enable incredible lighting effects.
