Brilliant Value for money

Bought this for 215 quid, flashed it to the 6970's bios. Then I used AMD overdrive to overclock from 880MHz to 900MHz, and I am currently playing crysis on 4*AA and high graphics without the frame rates going below 30 in intense moments. Plays everything else at really high frame rates, CSS is running at 900 fps.

AWESOME (and mines now running as a 6970

My wonderful girlfriend bought me one of these for my birthday as an upgrade from a Radeon 4850. This Radeon 6950 card plays any game at 1920x1080 resolution at maximum detail settings perfectly. If you are tech savvy you can upgrade it to a 6970 and get even more frames per second with a BIOS upgrade! This BIOS upgrade enabled the full amount of shaders (up from 1408 to 1536) and increased the clock speeds (default 6950 is 800mhz core, mine is currently running at 950mhz core!) and I havent even got to the best bit yet... there is a little switch so if for some reason the BIOS upgrade doesnt work it has a backup BIOS!!!!! basically to sum up, this card is the best value for money card I have EVER had, as a 6950 it is brilliant and perfect enough as it is and yet AMD have given you the chance to turn it into a 6970 with no chance of killing the card thanks to the backup BIOS. Cannot recommend enough, yes it is a lot of money but my god it is worth every penny.

Fantastic card

Purchased 2 of these cards to upgrade from 4870s and to tell the truth I wasnt sure if it was the right time to do so but I glad im did.

I successfully flashed both cards and have them running in xfire and they run everything I throw at them on full settings so im well chuffed with my purchase.

OC once again provided a excellent service.

Great card in its own right, but after flashing with a 6970 bios the performance per

One of the best

This cards reminds me of hours of fun tweaking the 97xx series of GPUs.

Pickup one of these before the "Power revised" boards filter through the system and google (or any other search engine) 6950.

Top card, shame the price has go up a little but I'm looking a Sandybridge and another right now... do I buy ir don't it?!?

Doesn't run hot

I would just like to point out that 40 degreese c on full load is by no standards "hot" for a high end graphics card. Considering a single 4870 runs at around 80 on full load you are looking at a big difference...

Great Card

Like the earlier poster, I'm really glad I held off buying a 6870. With more GPU horespower, double the RAM, and dual card BIOS for only

Excellent card

A great card - I upgraded from a 5770 which could run most games on the highest settings with some lag (except metro 2033) Now i can play all my games on highest settings at 1080p and i can also unlock it to a 6970 by modding the BIOS!
it runs pretty hot, but that would be expexted from a high end card (60C~ on load, and about 40C idle)
comes with CF bridge, power cables and VGA to DVI adapter unlike the XFX model.
make sure you have a large case for this one as it is 10.8 inches long!
all in all, great buy and should last a long time.

Managed to flash mine to a 6970!! Fantastic!!

Brilliant card!

Very good card, his resolution in all games! Starcraft 2 on the other hand keeps crashing ever since I've installed this card so there clearly are some compatibility issues (newest catalyst installed)

Excellent product

Incredible performance. After doing a clean sweap of drivers, coming from a gtx 460, this card outperforms it by a mile. I play all my games maxed out now, including Crysis, Final Fantasy XIV, Call of Duty Black Ops, Starcraft 2, Fallout New Vegas, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, you name it. The price/performance ratio on this thing puts it in a league of its own. I don't really do any photoshop/video editing so I don't miss CUDA. I think stereoscopic 3D is a gimmick and I don't miss physx either. And to all those buying into the slander about ATI's drivers, I can attest that they work just fine towards allowing you to get full benefit from your graphics card. So if you are on the fence about whether or not to go for this card or the gtx 570 remember, this card draws less power, scales 100% in xfire and is 20% cheaper. If you need a more detailed review just go on the internet, everybody is saying that for the money this card can't be beaten!

Great Bang for Buck

Came from a 4870x2 to this and very pleased. Every game is much smoother, temps are low, fan is very quiet and decent overclocking potential.

Overall very good bang for buck, another one needed for xfire now!

Matyicke 2010-12-18

Best bang for buck!

Installed this card and at the moment there are no games I own that I cannot play at Ultra settings at 1080p! I upgraded from a 4850 which was starting to struggle a bit with a few games on medium settings. Was one click away from ordering a 6870, even though they are great cards I'm glad I waited! Currently running an i5 @4.2GHZ, 4GB DDR3 1600 on ASUS P7P55D-E, BENQ G2420HDBL. There is nothing at this price range that is in contention, with AMD putting the prices up in the new year, grab a real bargin while you can! As usual great service from OCUK!

Well worf it

Temperatures for this are a bit high, but this thing over-clocks a beast - got mine close to 6980 levels so far, is great with tessellation, and overall its DX11 performance is great.
