Wow

What a great card. Admittedly, I needed a new case and power supply to get it running, but hey, my system needed an overhaul anyway. Easy to install (once you have the space, it is very long) and works great.

I'm only using stock speeds, and with a Core i5 4670 I'm getting 50+ fps in Battlefield 4 at 1920x1080 with all settings set to Ultra. Can't knock that.

HIS HD7950

Bought one of these a couple of weeks ago when on special offer. Great Gpu, runs very quiet. Only problem was that after a couple of days use the label started to peel and had to remove it. For that reason and only that reason I will only give it four stars. Fast and reliable service from Overclockers. Thinking of buying another for crossfire

Bf4 on ultra

Incredible card, bought this as part of a new build. Overclocked it pulls around 65-70FPS on ultra settings on BF4, very very happy will be buying another to Crossfire. For anyone interested in OCing, these are stable settings that I use that will increase performance by 10~20%, the card runs about 60~c which is very respectable for a decent overclock.

Core Voltage: 1250
Power Limit +20
Core Clock (MHz) 1150
Memory Clock 1350 (Don't forget this is x4, so 5400MHz)
Fan speed 40%

This card overclocked is only a small fraction worse than a 7970, so without a doubt it is worth picking up.

Also, I noticed alot of people complaining about "coil whine" on the 7970 versions, this card does not suffer for that, so on top of being cheaper, basically a 7970 when overclocked, it doesn't suffer the whine. Happy gaming people!

Terrific card, it's big mind

This is a superb card. I have moved up from an HD5850 and currently have this card sat at 1100/1400 with a 1% voltage increase. I haven't pushed it any further as I quite frankly didn't see the point as it is making mince meat of Battlefield 3.

Can't Fault

After getting ripped off by another company I stupidly used, the service from OC is 2nd to none.

On offer, and saying not in stock for a couple of days, I ordered and still got it the next day.

As for the performance of the card, with my i5 ivybridge it's running BF3 on ultra with no problems, and for when I want to record with FRAPS, I change the settings to high and get a static 60 FPS. Crysis 3 on 'high' settings also. haven't even looked at overclocking yet, but I chose this one as I read it's the best 7950 to do so with. However do not expect you can just crank EVERY new game up to ultra and it will eat it up because it wont. (eg Crysis, Total War Rome 2)

Temps don't get much higher than 70 under full load

Will probably crossfire in the future, but it looks like it's going to be a tight squeeze lol

Please be aware, if like me after installing the card your BIOS does not post, you need to update your BIOS.

Amazing card

Picked this up last week, running like a beast!

Clocked to 1100mhz/1700mhz.

Had to get the grinder out on my case due to the size : (

decent overclocker

I am very happy with the purchase. I bought the HIS HD7950 IceQ BOOST when on offer with the free AMD game promotions for Crysis and Bioshock. For the price it was a nobrainer.

The cards default vcore under boost is a bit high (1.25V) but the temperatures on mine are well controlled (25C idle). I never get over 70C with max 50% fan speed at 1160Mhz core and 1660MhZ (!!) vRam under full load. At gaming it usually sits under 60C and i can get it up to 1200Mhz core without crashes.

The only negative may be that the VRM temperatures cannot be monitored on the card and may limit further overclocking.

Overall a nice card for the price.

Overclocking beast

This card is an overclocking maniac, got mine to 1200mhz on the core and 1750mhz!!! on the memory, thats 7Ghz effective memory. Runs Tomb Raider flawlessly maxed out (FXAA not SMAA, as SMAA kills performance). Will be getting a second one of these before long.

It's Oh So Quiet

I was horrified when I received the box. Judging from its size, I thought they sent me a pair of trainers instead. But man oh man HIS sure know how to present their stuff, beautifully packaged and protected. At stock it is very very quiet, near silent. Their OC utility is very good. I know have a stable overclock at 1155/1525 with fan pleasantly humming away never reaching more than 75 degrees when gaming. This is a

Its Gooooooooooood

brought this as part of a full system upgrade from an ageing 5 year old Q9300 system which has now replaced a ati 6850 toxic..

plays far cry 3 great, cod seems better somehow... Bf3 is liquid smooth...@ 1920 x 1080 on 24" monitor..

Best bit... the 7950 averages around the 2200k mark for 3d mark 11 EXtreme preset...

I got a result of 2695k with stock clocks.. cant grumble at that.

buying another one at the end of the month ready to unleash crysis 3 out on them.... cant wait.....

Cracking

I bought this card to replace my Hawk 460GTX OC.

Boy what an improvement, my system is quite basic running a 1156 i5 550 chip and 8gb of RAM.

I put this card in and it's massive. But the fact the cooling is enclosed means the fan isn't blocked by any cards you have next to it, ergo it runs cooler.

I haven't done any OC on this card and it plays FC3 nice and smooth at 1920x1080 on high settings, it rinses BF3 on ultra, but I switched that down to High so that I can run FRAPs without issue (lowest FPS is like 35 with fraps recording to a seperate drive).

Such a nice card, it's very quiet on idle and makes a bit of noise under load but it's not the typical whirring noise that a regular prop fan would make which is a good point when reviewers compare dB of cards, it's the type of noise not just the volume.

I couldn't rate this card more, I read some issues with HIS and warranty but OC take care of everything anyway so nothing to worry about there if there was a prolem.

HIS HD 7950 IceQ BOOST

Bought 2 of these for crossfire

I owned the first iceQ card HIS ever made the 9800pro .

As for the 7950 well price is very reasonable when u consider how much origional 7950 was and this has one beast of a cooler fitted to it and has boost.

I needed a card that blew air out of case and not dumped hot air in case. (coolermaster cosmos) not best for ventilation but great for space.

please be aware these cards
Do take up more than 2 pci slots of space It's about 2 and a half slots as fan end stick out more than rest of cooler the cards cooler is tapered.

i installed 2 of these on asus p6t deluxe v2 and only just managed to fit both in and i thought i had plenty of space between pcix16 slots (5mm gap remaining between installed cards lol) So Beware!!!

Luckily fans suck air in from front and behind and sides so cooling wasnt affected by card that had no air space

overall very impressed with card quiet powerful and not to hot.

Plays far cry 3 well and equals my bro GTX 670

Great card

This thing not only looks amazing it performs amazing. Running with an i5 3570k at 4.4Ghz this card scores 7953 on 3D mark 11 at stock and 9291 after overclocking the card to 1100mhz on the core.

The hottest the card has got is 74 degrees after a 3 hour session playing Planetside 2 with everything maxed out.

If you are trying to to decide on which 7950 to get or indeed any are in two minds between the a 7950 and a 7970, get this. I promise you won't regret it.

Ian Coath 2012-12-14

Wow!

Excellent card... I was a little worried about fitting it as the card is really long.

Quiet under normal clock speeds, I am only overclocking slightly 1000mhz core, 1400mhz memory using AMD OverDrive and the fan is audible but not annoyingly so. I don't fancy voltage tweaking.

Temps are hovering around 70c under full load and playing Battlefield 3 for over an hour straight. Runs every game I have on max settings at respectable frame rates compared to the gtx 460 I had.

Was a little worried about moving to AMD from Nvidia, but am really pleased. Miss Physx in Borderlands 2, but the performance in Far Cry 3, Hitman Absolution, Sleeping Dogs and Battlefield 3 make up for it.

Recommend this card to anyone thinking of making an upgrade.

Excellent service from Overclockers once again. Ordered the item late on Friday, received eraly on Monday.

sweet!

I purchased a 800 Mhz version of this card, upgraded from an SLI 260 core 216s, and its just great.. the performance is outstanding. medal of honour war-fighter is maxed out on 1920x1080 (on a phenom II x4) :D even borderlands 2 is maxed out (low physx). the cooler in the other hand, is the very best :) the idle tems are around 30 and max that I have seen is 59 :) such a perfect card !

Does everything it says on the tin!!

Awesome card, I've got a good clocker, temps don't go above 62c full load with a big OC and higher volts (than probably necessary). Really quiet too. Be carefull if you want to XFIRE as the cooler is a little large but I am VERY HAPPY.

If you're reading this review - just get one.....

Dan 2012-10-22

A Real Beast!

This card reaches a max temp of just 61C thanks to the huge cooler! The fan can be heard when under load, but it's not loud or annoying in any way (It's the quietest and coolest 7950 i've witnessed so far).

This beast will handle any game thrown at it with all bells and whistles turned on... I definitely recommend this card along with OCUK's brilliant service :)

chris 2012-10-18

Brilliant

Brilliant card, overclocked to 1200mhz on stock voltage, cant rate the cooler as i removed to fit a full cover water block.
What you waiting for just buy it :)
