I needed to downsize so swapped my i9-9900k/1080ti build for this and i can honestly say that this almost keeps up with that watercooled desktop.
I have this laptop running a 1440p 144hz g-sync monitor when gaming and the nvidia rx 2080 does well in games like battlefront 2 and apex legends, though the graphics settings are slightly lowered compared to the 1080ti but this is expected in a laptop . The air cooling is really good considering the notoriously hot 9th gen i9's and when you're gaming at 1440p the fans will be running loudly and the cpu/gpu will thermal throttle at times but this is expected in a laptop, even when throttling the fps barely dropped.
The laptop screen is great quality too and the gaming laptop itself is not too heavy. Internal speakers are not too bad for movies etc but ideally you will want to plug something in.
Battery can drain very fast, the windows battery slider and hp recommended profile are okay for short term but even on battery saver it'll only last an just over an hour streaming netflix so i would suggest creating your own power plans for extended battery.
The bundled software from hp is quite good too, which is rare from manufacturers.
