Iiyama G-Master GB2788HS-B1 27" 1920x1080 TN FREESYNC 144Hz Widescreen LED 1MS Monitor - Black

I have now purchased 2 of these monitors from Overclockers. Both are immaculate!!
By far my favourite monitor on sale at the moment in this price bracket.
These are a must have for anyone who wants to start gaming in a serious way!

Amazing performance - Freesync is like a dream - great price!

I was planning to buy a 120/144hz monitor, but I didn't want to spend a fortune on it, especially now, when IPS, 144hz even curved monitors are available. But all of those super new monitors are crazy expensive - Paying GBP 1000 for Acer X34 Predator? Come on, that is very very expensive.
So I checked what is the most important to me - size, refresh rate, lag, speed, smoothness, connections.
I decided that a 27" is my size, as 24" is not comfortable on the long run for my eyes. But although 2560x1440 would be great, but you need an extra expensive graphics card to be able to set all maximum/ultra and still get 80-120fps. So I decided I stay with 1080p as I did not want to buy a new GPU for another GBP 500. I have currently a R9 290.
I wanted to buy Freesync monitor, as Nvidia's pricetag for the G-sync is not appealing to me. Not only the G-sync version monitors are much more expensive than the Freesync ones but also they are very limited in connection options. (eg only 1 displayport, or maybe another HDMI in the newest ones? - come'on - that is unacceptable for GBP800-1000 priced monitors).
I looked around and found this Freesync supporting iiyama Red eagle monitor, which is totally new release, I couldn't even found a test or review or unboxing video on the net about it.
Price is amazingly attractive around £ 250. It is 144hz, Freesync, 1ms response time etc. All connections I needed, Displayport, HDMI, DVI. Even Audio jack and speakers. The stand is height adjustable - that was also important to me. So all in all it sounded to be a decent deal.
I am utterly satisfied!!! For this price tag, it provides really all what it promised! Fast like crazy! But beyond that great colors, and a lot of useful factory pre-set settings in the OSD menu, I found them good enough. Switching on Freesync was easy and it is running perfectly.- due to Freesync I don't notice any frame drop!!! Unlike it was before!
Beyond the fast and smooth performance, the colors are great if you look the monitor from the center - although it is a TN panel, and I used before a IPS - i don't have much issue with the color accuracy either.
It comes with 3 year warranty!!!
In the box, they included all necessary cables - Displayport, Dual link DVI, HDMI, audio etc...
Room for improvement:
-the built in speaker is very weak. I turned it completely off.
-the OSD menu is touch screen, but it is not lighting up - so in dark hours it can be difficult to navigate and find the correct buttons. (but minor issue, since I have a desk lamp - that I can turn on for that 1 min)
- bezel and chassis is very simple, but I don't mind - it is the screen that I am watching during gaming/work not the bezel or chassis. And the screen is great.
All in all - I strongly recommend this Monitor. It was a great decision not to spend fortune on the new models + then buy new GPUs (possible 2x) to be able to run games at 120-144fps.
Freesync is absolutely great! no need G-sync here!!!!
