overclocked mine to 70hz!

Impressed so far! Bought a decent dp cable although it comes shipped with one. Running mine with a crossfire 280x set-up and am getting 35-50 fps on the newest titles.
No dead pixels and images as you`d expect a super sharp and the vast array of inputs makes it the best implementation of the 28" 4k panel

No Regrets

This is some serious collateral for the money. The best implementation of the TN panel with a plethora of inputs. Stand and build quality appears to be top notch.
4k gaming is an absolute blast and not as demanding as you think considering I only have a 280x crossfire set up. Bad company 2 feels like a new game in 4k. Getting 35 fps in crysis 3.40-60 in bf4, just keep the AA off!

Great monitor

I bought this monitor as an upgrade to be used for work and casual gaming.

I can vouch for all of the other reviews on this monitor, it is great.

I'm running crossfire r9 280Xs and they can handle 4k very well, I've not tested any heavy hitting games but titles such as Skyrim, borderlands 2 and Warcraft look amazing - as well as this the UI scaling is perfect. (I know this wont be across the board but that isn't the monitors fault!)

The stand is solid and has an infinite amount useful configurations and you get all variants of cables with the monitor including DP to MiniDP. I made the mistake of buying this cable as i never knew it was in the box!

Also, i know it has been said, but the monitor does default to DP 1.1, this will need to be changed to 1.2 in the settings in order to run at 60hz.

For anyone looking to jump to 4k even before the IPS panels are a reasonable price, i would definitely recommend this monitor.

Just for reference the price at the time of his review was

Good 4K Tn Monitor

Hello friends, here is my review!.

So..i bought this for a 4K general upgrade,

Gaming and general performance?...see below

I ran this monitor on a MSI GTX 680 Power edition which worked well over display port 1.2 (which you need for 4K at 60hz just in case that slipped by). I played a bit of Metro Last light which ran well at 3840x2160 with settings turned down a tad.

In windows the image quality is good..Its sharp looking with a good brightness and contrast level.
I turned on 2+ Blue light reduction in the monitors setup interface, menu and put overdrive up a notch.

Overall quite good. Now many IPS people are going to say..well the colors are not great etc etc. But the is a reasonable
amount of "pop" and watching 4K videos on youtube leaves one with almost emotional impact. That many pixels switching between a beautiful array of colors really does give an enjpyable experience. All in all its a very acceptable
introduction to 4K. Although my previous monitor was only a high end VGA...go figure.

Next i ran this panel on the serious bit of kit...the Sapphire Radeon 295X2 (which breathes fire out of your case fyi!)

Initial windows performance was good,...

One hiccup was that the supplied mini display port to normal? display port cable didn't work out the box with intermittent issues with the screen going black, leaving just the mouse cursor. I think this is something to do with the 295X2 and the cable, no Sherlock Holmes points there lol..... but..using the DVI connector and the display port simultaneously i was able to get a picture, change the rez up to 3840x2160 at 30hz, then select the display port as the primary monitor, change that to 60hz and then finally unplug the DVI leaving everything tickedy boo and hunky-dory etc etc.

For gaming on the 295X2 performance is good, no issue here. Lag is low. Iiyama have put some low latency pass though tech in the monitor which improves things slightly. I'm sorry to say i haven't seen another 4k monitor with this panel in the flesh to compare it to. But it is good in general?.

If you're coming from a brilliant IPS panel then you are going to be making sacrifices, another point not many people are mentioning is that games are not being designed for 4k in terms of rendering engines and detail.

Some games, video software are left with an almost 1990's high end VGA like quality to the on screen geometry due to the sharpness and visible simplicity of the in game models at high resolutions. Lower res hides some aspects of game design so you should be ready for this regardless of which 4k manufacture you buy at this stage.

Work, productivity?...see below.

You can have a lot on screen at once as you'd expect. I have accountancy software, news websites and financial TV
steaming etc etc. You can have picture within picture to streamline your development needs if you need that.

If you use 3D modeling you will likely feel like someones taken the blinkers off but made your icons really small.
Optimizations will see this tech move forward. There's very little eyestrain going on so you can use it for hours. One big to get used to is that for years we have been absorbing information from screens at typical resolutions. You may find your brain has trouble adapting to the visual stimuli your perceiving initially. Cognitively we are absorbing gigs of data
a second and initial you might be quite taken aback.

Viewing angles are quite good, i have little to say here except you want to have the tilt setup ok otherwise your will be seeing more black at the top or bottom edges.

I wrote all this at length because if your on the fence then i think its worth knowing etc etc.

4k performance will remain inconsistent across platforms, hardware, architecture and design due to complexity but at
the end of the day if you have the paper with queens head on it available...then this monitor looks wonderful on your desk, it makes you feel like a right boss and semi-nerdy.

I would say its worth the dosh.

To view 4K video

Have also purchased this for watching 4K video from a GH4 camera, and for editing. Not for gaming.

Some points to note, the display controls are a fiddle to start with because the default setting is a very brief display, so first thing, select the option to make the display last 30 seconds or longer.

The default setting for the display port is 1.1, which won't display the highest resolution at 60hz. Use the display control to change the display port to 1.2, and it will now display at 60hz

I have had severe problems with nvidia drivers on Linux ( I use Kdenlive for editing 4K ) . The nvidia utilities lock up some of the screen controls and you need to use the factory reset to unlock them.

Suprisingly my old card . A Radeon HD 6770 flex edition drives the full resolution at 30hz, plus another larger than HD screen at the same time using the default Linux Mint Quiana drivers on DVI. It also displays 2880 x 1620 at 60Hz over DVI, which is what I will use for working, switching to full resolution to review the video.

An excellent set of leads for every combination.

Screen is pin sharp. No artifacts visible. Stand rock steady. Easy to assemble. Haven't tried the sound as I have a separate sound system. Visibility of screen from the sides is excellent. Vertical angle is much better than expected. Colour rendition is excellent, and you have a lot of control if you want to change the settings.

Order arrived next day. Time of arrival trackable on website from 9am, so knew exactly when it would arrive.

Also use this system to watch HD TV. Perfect quality. ( Kaffeine + USB dongle )

Just what i expected

i bought this mainly to edit 4k video at full screen with my lumix gh4 4k camera, i will game at 1080p or 2k depending what game for which i have tested the games scaled to a lower rez and they look perfect to me due to it being 4 to 1 or 2 to 1 pixel ratio.

when set to native resolution and 60hz in nvidia control panel using the full sized display port cable and setting version 1.2 in the monitors control panel you can then select the equivelent rez and refresh rate in games.

ergonomics wise the cabinet is plain the stand is nice and heavy and adjustable verticaly and swivels on the base, the control panel is a bit fiddly as the screens brightness stops you seeing the button references marked on the front of the screen so i just use a torch but once setup there easy to press ( touch sensitive) all the cables are included in the box and theres no point buying any more expensive cables. the screen coating is the perfect hardness ( not reflective and not like a sheet of sandpaper)

the vertical fov is a bit tight but just set your monitor to the right height and sit central and its fine.

price and warranty is very good and iiyama have a good reputation with quality.

its great to see 4k videos full screen and edit and grade them, i just set my desktop icons to 170% and internet explorer the same.

only thing its missing is a remote control.

have to totally agree with the above review.
