34UC87C-B 34" 3440x1440 IPS WideScreen Super-Wide Curved LED Monitor

21:9 Curved UltraWide QHD (3440*1440) display offers visual comfort with 2.4 times more visual information at one time than a Full HD monitor. And also, the QHD resolution’s 1440p vertical height allows you to use more vertically than a 29 inch 21:9 monitor.

IPS’s 178’ wide viewing angles, close to 180’, allow you to view the screen clearly without distortion. Also, the Curved IPS provides an immersive viewing angle covering the entire viewing angle around your range of vision.

You are guaranteed an immersive artwork by perceiving the same color as a subject on display or print through a sRGB over 99% colourspace and IPS’s accurate colour expression.

Using MaxxAudio® technology you will experience deeper bass and crystal clear highs. Equipped with two 7w internal speakers and MaxxAudio® technology, the 34UC87 provides cinema surround- like sound, allowing you to enjoy movies without any extra external speaker or sound output equipment.

Stunning monitor

This monitor is brilliant. Size and resolution is perfect for me and the panel has very little light bleed which would have been a deal breaker. The curve is just perfect and makes for comfortable viewing and films look amazing on this. Speakers good for a monitor but unnecessary and build quality of the stand is very sturdy.

I use this primarily as a gaming monitor, you can of course get G Sync monitors now but at the time when I bought this they were not available, 60fps is anyway enough for me. If you are on the fence about getting an Ultra Wide monitor, just do it. Gaming on this is so immersive, I wouldn't be able to go back- hell no..!

Got this as a B-Grade and WOW! Matches the height of my older 27" monitor and the colour pallet is much better.

I think the vertical space is probably a little too limited for serious CAD/CAM work but for spreadsheets and other financial gear it is fantastic. Also - I've found the height match to the 27" makes for a really seamless side panel experience.

The curve - to be honest, I don't really notice it which is as it should be.

Stand = super. Easy to set, highly adjustable and solidly built.

Definitely recommend for anyone who works with large spreadsheets. I gave it an extra star for the price - around

Great monitor, perhaps a little overpric

First up, Overclockers utterly fantastic as usual - after finding the monitor in Today Only late on a Friday, I ordered at 3.30pm with Saturday delivery, kind of resigned that it would probably be too late and it would arrive Monday

Great monitor, if you don't mind the lig

First of all I'd like to just say " Wow ". I'm in love with the size & curve of this monitor. I bought this instead of the lg34uc97, because of the no height adjustment, just needed for the screen to be little higher of the desk. The model lg34uc87 can be found on LG web site, but only if you search for it in the country Germany. So yes this monitor does come with a two pin plug, which is no big deal. It's the same monitor with a better stand so I think. Now for the light bleed, while its seems as its the same screen as the other model, what was the chances it wasn't going to have the same issue. Light bleed in all four corners, when the screen projecting a dark background, games, movies, images and so on.

Now for some other points to consider, I'm using a MacBook Pro late 2013 15" retina to view the LG monitor, using thunderbolt cable, giving me 3440 x 1440 60 htz, totally stunning. Hdmi not as great but close. Xbox 360 via hdmi, ok for some games, but the resolution is all out, little bit of jitteriness here and there.

Now I bought this because basically Apple have not yet got into gear with upgrading the old Thunderbolt Display. So I couldn't wait any longer, needed a good size screen for photography editing mainly. My MacBook Pro next to this screen, works just great, and I do love the extra real estate. There is of course a slight colour shift between the screens when viewing both side by side of the same image or wallpaper.

Something I noticed that this monitor falls down on is, it doesn't detect a plug and play feature, you have to manually switch over the device you want to view on the screen by using the on screen menu and selecting the connection you want either HDMI 1 or 2 or Thunderbolt or Display port.

Overall thinking about if I made the right choice, I'd say yes. A couple of days later I visited an Apple Store and had a try on the 27" Imac retina display, and to be honest, after getting used to the curve of a 34", which by the way took less than an hour, I can honestly say, I'd buy a new Thunderbolt Display only if it was the same curve and size as this LG., as I've never heard about apple screens having light bleed, also 27" just looks strange to me now.

Final thoughts, price alittle bit over the top, considering the light bleed, enough reviews have mentioned it, time to sort it out I would think. If the price starts to drop some what maybe it could be overlooked, however for myself I think I'm going to try my hand at a replacement and hope that the light bleed is less than the one I have now, so will see how Overclockers handle my replacement, I've heard they are good at handling any issues you have.
