Outstanding monitor

Everything I had hoped, so many more games supporting 21:9 than I had expected.

Download free app for windows called Windowed Borderless Gaming, makes a huge difference on the rare games that don't yet support 21:9. Blizzard games are only ones not working for me.

Got rid of my second screen with this puppy, just not needed any more.

Immersive and Crisp

It is hard work choosing a monitor these days, at least it was for me.

I got one of these as soon as they came out as I had decided that I really wanted a 21:9 monitor. I spend most of my screen time either playing games or predominantly writing music.

Games - this thing is lovely for games. It down points - not all games natively support the resolution (normally can be fixed with a third party app) and cut scenes are often displayed 1920x1080 and so have black bars either side, but this doesnt bother me to much. The extra horizontal space for gaming really adds to the experience. I can't see myself every going back from this aspect ratio for games. Freesync is also lovely, it really does a great job of creating smooth game play with varying framerates.

Music - I use Logic and having the extra horizontal space really helps when creating tracks, allowing you to view so much more than a standard 16:9 ratio monitor. Again, can't see me going back on this.

Compatibility - Using a displayport cable with my PC everything works fine. I also have a 2011 mac book pro which would work with the displayport fine (but this is hooked up to my PC) so I had to use a DVI cable along with SwitchResX in order to get the resolution working, and that is only at 55hz or something, but that doesnt bother me.

Pro's - looks great, crisp IPS panel (this is my first and they really are lovely), FREESYNC!, extra width is amazing. The monitor itself also looks really nice.

Con's - The monitor only supports freesync between 48-75 hz. I find this actually quite good but on my next upgrade I will want a 21:9 monitor with 144hz refresh, something not yet available. It would be nice to have a higher refresh rate but I understand that these panels are yet to be able to do this. Like I said, not all games supports 2560x1080 out the box, most can be made to using flawlesswidescreen or another 3rd party app. But cut scenes will generally always be 1920x1080. Would have also been nice to have 2 displayport inputs.
