Almost Perfect

I love the look of the case, fits very well into a home cinema set up.
It is not without its issues though, if you were building a straight HTPC without high end gaming requirements, I doubt you would need to look further. A standard build with a mid range graphics card and you would have no problems and I would highly recommend it.

There are some caveats with it though.

Although you have the length for high end graphics cards, it lacks the height. The center support the case in is in exactly the spot where your power connector / graphic cards cooler sits. I even had to modify the center support to fit a 970 GTX Gigabyte MiniITX 970 GTX. These cards are not long but they do sit high. Without the modification, the heatpipes touch the support. The PCI express power cables have to be bend over to get them in and touch the top of the case.

Obviously you need the center support as every single drive bay is fixed to it.

I have no need for a DVD/Bluray Drive so I thought I would leave the 5 1/4 bay out for better cabling. Unfortunately, you cant as the bay fascia is mounted to the internal bay. So again thats why you need the center support in, or be left with a gaping hole in the front.

Lastly, for some bizarre reason. The USB 3.0 ports seems to be split across 2 connectors. One is internal, whilst the other has to snake out of the back of the case to connect to a port on the rear of the motherboard.

As I stated in the top of my review, I was somewhat optimistic in what I wanted to get into this case.

z97 motherboard, 8Gb DDR3, 3TB Storage Drive, 120Gb SSD boot. 970GTX and corsair 550 PSU. But for the most part it does fit with modification to the center support.

If you want to do the same, be prepared to use a few choice words during installation.

Given that the mini-itx 970GTX came out after the case, its not fair to judge Lian Li on this.
However the cases over reliance on the center support and decision to mount the bluray drive cover on the internal storage bay and not the case itself is questionable IMO.

Fits well in living room

Overall very discreet case, loads if room in it compared to other HTPC cases but more importantly not a huge depth to it, it's similar to a power amp in size so should fit most HIFI stands and TV stands.

Plenty of options for placing stuff within by moving, modifying or removing HDD or OD racks. The racks are easily disabled.

The most annoying thing is the front panel connections (USB and SD CARD) all run off male USB leads that you're supposed to run out the back of the case and into your rear panel ports. PITA that so many case manufacturers are doing this now. I ended up cutting all these leads off.
