pretty good but....

had this mobo for a year now and its been great, with usb 3.0 and 6 gbs sata for this price. it unlocked my AMD phenom B55 X2 into a X4 straight away. the only problem i have had is i cant get it to recognise more than 12gb ram (win 7 pro 64bit) tried all kinds but its a no go. i would still reccomend for anyone not using so much ram though

Superb Board

I bought this board with a Phenom II 960T from ocuk and its happily unlocked all 6 cores and running it nice and stable at 4ghz. Really could not ask for more from a board. Nice simple and easy overclocking and unlocking.
The Board I received was the FX version which is the same but supports AM3+ Cpu's...

I had it hooked up with phenom II X4 955 BE, hd5850, 8gb G.skill, 750W OCZ psu, Corsair H50, 2 x 1tb hdd, 120GB agility SSD.

I bought one to go with a simple budget gaming rig. I wanted somethign that could handle a bit of basic OC. and at first it was doing quite alright (hence the 2 stars)

Lasted me about 5 months though, then the mosfets caught on fire! I sent back to OCuk who had to send it back to MSI for them to have a look at it. Eventually MSI returned me a brand new motherboard.

I bought an Asus M5A97 PRO AMD 970 instead....can't fault it.

Easy to install

Worked with plently of motherboards from all makes, always wanted an MSi but never got round too it, finally made the choice and found it very easy to get on with, havn't touched any of the tewaking features, unless your case has a removable motherboard tray make sure you secure it before attaching a heatsink.

using 4 sticks of 4gb xms3 on 64bit, working beautifully,

you can tell aesthetically the circuitry is of a good quality, and has great features from the 870, the new rev. of the motherboard states it an an AM3+ giving you support for AMDs 8Core when finally released, motherboard itself is very cool and well maintained temperature wise in a CM storm scout with all silverstone fans and seperate cooling for CPU and RAM

Why no crossfire

I know its my fault but i got this thinking it was the crossfire version because i now have 2 Graphics cards and 1 PCI express x16 slot, other than this i found this board to be great for the money and very easy to install due to the easy to follow guide provided with it

MSI 870A-G54

Lots of features should mean the system is that bit more future proof.

Paired with an tri core processor i managed to unlock it to a quad at stock volts at default 3.2ghz

i gave its OC genie a whirl... it booted and benchmarked at 3.7ghz at stock volts! turned it back to stock though

Phenomenal value!

Have built two machines using this motherboard spec. Just phenomenal value when coupled with an X2 555. single bios change and unlocked for X4 B55 BE. 4 cores - just like that! Couped with Inno3D iChill XXXX, MSI GTS450 Cyclone OC 1GB GDDR5 and 4GB (2x2GB) Kingston DDR3 HyperX ram. Top notch! Go get!!

Perfect with Phenom II X2 555 BE

This board will unlock the four cores of the Phenom II X2 555 BE with a single click in the bios.

Such a great motherboard for the price. Overclocking has been made so simple!
