Simply brilliant

Recently got this card for gaming and all i can say is it smashes anything i throw at it. This card will run anything at a reasonable resolution, i'm personally running at 1280x1024 and it wipes the floor with everything. Perhaps the best thing about this card is how cool it runs. I have honestly yet to see this card go higher than 40c. Incredible.

This card is great! its easy to plug in, then the computer practically does it all for you, bar some updated drivers. It can play any game out there on high graphics, and its all set for when you get 3D, dual monitors. . . lol , whatever you can think of. Oh and I must not leave out the advice Overclockers UK gave me was indeed Outstanding! they informed me of a few things I needed to know for example the 2x6pin plugs needed from the PSU. Thanks again I will certainly be using you again! Kindest Regards "clueless" x

Phenomenal Value

After purchasing a 5870 on release in 2009, I've decided I didn't need the 'best'. After selling the 5870 a few months later, I bought a GTX 260 which unfortunately blew up. Bought this little baby as a replacement, overclocked straight to 940/1880. Temps top out at 66C and the fan is inaudible!

Now check out this, two 3D Mark Vantage scores from my PC, one with a 5870 @ 1000MHz and the other with this GPU with the clocks mentioned above.

There's about 2FPS difference in the GPU tests!

Got this card straight up to
4200 memory, 910 clock and 1820 shader at 1.075 volt. there seems plenty more in it as so far only hit 52c

Good card not the best but hey cheap aint it. Bit of a downgrade really for me my 280gtx blew on me and couldnt afford another of the top range but this has dx 11 and nothing stopping me from getting a second card in abit.

Great card

I bought this card because my old card (ati 4890) was playing up.

This card is obviously a far better card, but It's nice to see nvidia offering some decent cards that use a small PCB. This means it will fit nicely in almost any pc.

You can tell this is a high quality card when you get it out of the box. Very well made indeed. The fan is a lot quieter than my old card.

The card comes with dvi to vga, dvi to hdmi and mini-hdmi to hdmi connectors.

This card handles everything I have thrown at it. I would definitely recommend it if anybody is thinking about purchasing this msi card over another 460 card.

Well i originally bought 1 of these cards, 2 weeks later i had to get another & wow.
I ran Vantage and scored a very nice 27178 @ 927/1854/2020, i found some benchmark scores and the GTX 480 SLi was the top performer with 25335, that about sais it all.
The card is virtually noiseless & stays very cool, mine has not gone over 60 degrees even oc'd.

The best card for the money?

Glad to say this card is a huge improvement over my oc 9800gt. It's extremely quiet, runs very cool and plays all my games maxed out (except crysis but what card does?) can't really see the need for the 1GB version with performance like this from the cheaper card.

Just brilliant!!

brill card

ordered this card because of the overclocking potential, wow i am amazed at how well it overclocks and have done most dx11 benchmarks have been getting 70-100 fps average frame rates excellent buy there are more expensive cards out there but dont performe as well as this, 1 tip for overclockers out there is make sure to get watercooling if going do high overclock it is well worth it

Bought this to replace my 4870 which died, unfortunately.

I wasn't going to bother with a review but this card has impressed me so much that I felt compelled to.

Performance wise it's as expected really: that is slightly better than my 4870, not massive amounts.

But whats really impressed me is how quiet and cool this card is. Easily the quietest gfx card I have ever owned. I really can't believe that a high powered gfx card can be so quiet and cool. Seriously, my 4870 was a quiet card, but it did like to waft vast amounts of rather warm air out the back of the case. Not only is this almost silent, nothing comes out the back except a cool breeze. And thats after 3 straight hours of MW2!

I am very impressed with this card. Great price and as close to silent as you are going to get.

Mid-range monster!

Amazing card. I did not expect this performance from the card for 130 pounds. The card is quiet (even after the oc is the quieter of the Radeon 5870 over 60%!) And emits little heat - max. 55 * C after the oc!. All games on 22 "monitor in HD go to the maximum setting. OC this card is simple and safe and gives a huge performance boost. Two cards in SLI is a huge performance at the perfect price. I recommend strongly.

Solid all around

I never thought I would say this about a Fermi card, but there you have it!

I was only looking for a stop gap upgrade until next year for some folding and a bit of casual gaming. Research pointed to this GPU for the money, but I must say I was sceptical of the mostly optimistic reviews online.

A few days on from getting this card, I can say I have no regrets. It run well out of the box and yielded nicely to overclocking. I settled for a modest - 850/1700/4200(QDR) - set of frequencies to use for a few more demanding games in my collection and to cut folding times. All at stock voltages.

At default, fan noise was a slight issue, but it was resolved via MSI Afterburner, where I just created a ramp up curve to suit my needs. Even so, temperatures under load stayed at a reasonable 54C average and never hit over 72.5C under maximum stress in Furmark. Brilliant!

Half a star should come off for naked VRAM chips and fan design dumping heat back into the case, but I feel generous today.

A great card

Read all the online reviews, this version of the GTX 460 is possibly the best. Not only custom cooled but also allows for voltage tweaking through the MSI software. Up the voltage and watch it fly!

Disagree with the other reviewer about the 1GB version. I play at 1080 resolution and the card copes fine, the 1GB performs only about 5% better, not worth the extra

Excellent product

WOW this card is simply amazing. Its performance is rock solid. I have had no problems running COD6, L4D2, COD4 on the highest of settings with over 60 fps on 1600*900. It scored 14500 in 3DMark Vantage and it comes with MSI's Afterburner Software which is an excellent tool for overclocking. I have not overclocked this card yet as I felt the performance was enough and I did not want to stress the card if it wasn't absolutely necessary. Although it feels good to know you can oc this substantially when you need it to, so it is in a sense future-proof. I would recommend this card over all the other brand cards. If you want to play on 1080p resolutions then I recommend you go for the 1 gig version of this card.
All in all I am very happy with this gfx. Best card I have ever owned. 5/5

Andrei Olteanu 2010-09-26

This card can be overclocked to

927MHZ (core)

GPU voltage which was set at 1.1 volts (maximum in AfterBurner 1.6.1).

Temps never went above - 64 C

This card was placed in a roundup and beat all the 460's when overclocked in 3d performance! evga gigabyte all got owned!
