Pricey, but well worth it.

Great card. Pricey, but I live with the motto "better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it". Currently running 1440x900 19", about to upgrade to a Dell 30", and possible another card.

Card is extremely quick, seen well over 100fps in BF3, on ultra, everything maxed both in game and nvidia CP. No driver issues, other than the pre-bf3 specifics, which had slight tearing.

Card is silent too, if I play with sound muted, I still cant hear it. System quite noisey, consists of monster Noctua DH-14, and Corsair 850W. Corsair Carbide 400R.

Also love the aesthetics, I wire tucked my PC and it looks really industrial inside, the card looks like more of a matt grey finish than the display picture. Really impressed!

I think the only lacking feature is Displayport, which ati's have, and so do Dell monitors, however I believe the quality difference is negligable.

All in all a card I would really recommend, especially if bored of ATI's driver shenanigans.

The Bees Knees of single GPU's

First off, overclockersUK you are superb, this company should of won best online IT retailer.

Had my doubts on the reliability of the card by someone on the forums saying the card bios does not give enough volts. Mine has 1025mV and I have played skyrim ultra settings 8hrs+ without a glitch.

I have only had this card a couple of days and for the performance you get out of it the temps are so low I am speechless.

Ambient temp 18 to 20c, Idle this card barely goes above 30c, tested with cinebench hits 40c.

Please buy this card people you will not be disappointed.

Pretty Damn Good

Purchased to replace a 5870 that died on me (and couldnt wait for RMA to be processed). Didnt expect a huge jump in performance, but this card is very good (and perhaps the switch to i5@4.6GHz helped a wee bit too) ... and very very quiet. Only tried Skyrim so far, but it spits that out on Ultra settings without breaking a sweat and staying whisper quiet .... Highly recommended

Typical Overclockers EXCELLENT service ... without doubt, the best site on the internet for PC components and topped off with unbeatable customer service.

AMAZING CARD

Bought this card to replace an ageing 5850 that used to bottom to 10 to 20 fps when on ultra. Had it delivered today. Bit fidley to install but once it was in no worries. Now playing bf3 on ultra with all efects maxed and its now running at no less than 50fps even in full on fire fights with lots of debri flying around. Definatley worth the upgrade so far, going to see what its like on metro 2033 and rage.

The solution to your SLI woes

Having recently bought Battlefield 3, my old GTX460 SLI rig was running into overheating issues (a problem with the case and mobo combination, more than the cards themselves). After having various issues with an SLI setup (micro stuttering, driver issues, SLI profiles etc) I decided to bite the bullet and go for a more powerful single card setup.

The 580 is running cooler than a single 460 was (in my setup, it idles around 40c and peaks around 70c under heavy load). The noise level is acceptable, certainly audible heavy load but nothing too loud. Performance is excellent; I

Not that good

I bought 2 of those on thursday,got them on friday...overclockers are great,but....
DO NOT buy 2 of them for SLI,unless your board support 3 way SLI,and your PC case is designed for 3 way SLI.the cards, one next to another wont work longer than 10-15 min.after that they overheat(especialy the first slot card)and they restart the system.i had to get rid of my beloved Antec P182 because of the stupid MShIt.and the problems dosent stop there...oh no.i bought new case but the the 3 way SLI bridge wont fit completely into the first card, cos MSI,the idiots have decided to put a stupid metal plate before the conectors that...im not even sure what that plate supports.
So if you want 2 of those in SLI in your system you should make sure that:
-your board support 3 way SLI so they can be in slots 1 and 3(makes no diference in preformance atleast for me)
-your PC case is designed for 3 way SLI
-get an extra long and flexible SLI bridge
After all that, youll be little bit impresed, but not a lot
Thnx

Top card

Brought this to replace a 4890 and there was a huge performance boost, Much much quieter too!
All round im happy with it.

Buy it

Well just upgraded from a GTX470oc to this beast.
Card is the same size in length and fitted nicely into my Antec 900 Two case which I was worried about because I really need to upgrade it.

Jumped straight into BFBC2 which used to run at 70fps average on Medium - High settings. Now getting 140 average at full settings.

I bought this to be ready for BF3 later this year but didn't want to spend

Top quality graphics card.

I bought this to replace an MSI 460 HAWK and have not been disappointed. Approximately 50%+ performance boost over an OC'd 460 (850/1700/4000). And more VRAM of course.

They appear now to be coming with a much more sensible vid on the GPU. There were a number of reported problems with some earlier cards only running at 1v. My card came with 1.038v and is rock solid stable at up to 830MHz.

The fan profile looks to have been toned down a bit now (earlier ones were a bit "aggressive"). Obviously you gain a bit of heat but loose a fair bit on the noise side. As fan now rarely goes much above 50%

As to temps. The previous poster must live in the Arctic! In a well vented Lian Li case, idle is mid 30's and load high 60's to low 70's. Still pretty cool when compared to the older 480 cards. If you want it cooler (why?) you can always set up a more aggressive fan profile in Afterburner.

All told a nice card and well built. Now backed up by a 3 year warrant

cool "n" quiet

title says it all really.
really nice card, runs around 35 C idle and 55 C when taxed, cant hear the fans at all and my overall case temperature has dropped also

Andy 2011-03-10

Very nice

I bought two of these cards to run in SLI and boy do they fly!

These are my first nVidia cards for over 5 years, ATI/AMD in the past including 6950's in crossfire (what hell they were) and they are such a breath of fresh air compaired to the driver hell of AMD.

Anyhow, with 1.1v both cards in SLI run stable at 950 MHz on the core and 2200 on the memory. Average temps with this clock are between 70-80 deg C and fairly quiet to boot - while silent on the desktop etc under load they are audible, not unpleasent but audible.

Sure 580's arent the cheapest, but you do get amazing performance and a air of quality in both the drivers and UI.

Excellent

Great card - cool, quiet and very fast!

Runs 10-20c cooler than the stock GTX580 and it also appears to be pre-overclocked (to 823/1069) which is great.
