GeForce GTX 970 OC "Reference Fan" 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

The new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980/970 is powered by the next generation NVIDIA Maxwell Architecture, giving you incredible performance, unmatched power efficiency, and cutting-edge features.

Maxwell is the most advanced GPU architecture ever made, designed to be the engine of next generation gaming. Inspired by light, it was designed to solve some of the most complex lighting and graphics challenges in visual computing. For the first time, gaming GPU's can dynamically render indirect light using the new VXGI (Voxel Global Illumination technology). Scenes are significantly more lifelike as light interacts more realistically in the game environment.

The GTX 980 is the worlds fastest GPU and the GTX 970 offers the most advanced performance in its class. Each delivers 2x the performance of previous-generation card, bringing new gaming experiences to virtual reality, and ultra resolution 4k displays.

Enable the detail of 4k monitors, on a 1080P display. DSR produces smoother images by rendering a game at a high resolution, then downscaling it to the native resolution of the display using advanced filtering.

GeForce GTX 980 and 970 cards support tear-free, super-fast NVIDIA G-Sync monitor display technology including 4k. Together, these technologies provide the most immersive and competitive gaming experiences possible.

This extra 970 postponed upgrade to 1080 :)

I bought this card to use in SLI with my 18 month old GTX 970. I wanted to squeeze as much performance from my current setup for as little money as possible.

I decided to add another GTX 970 in an SLI configuration. I game at 1440p - a single GTX 970 struggles at that resolution with good graphics settings on my recently played games(Doom, Fallout 4, Far Cry 4 & GTA 5). The addition of the MSI GTX 970, working in SLI, has give me around a 40% performance boost in all those games over a single GTX 970.

As for the graphics card itself, faultless, I pulled out my old reference GTX 970 just to compare performance, it was only a fraction bit faster - probably because it has a slightly higher clock speed. The GTX 970 is a very competent card for gaming at 1080p and should run most games with ease. I would highly recommend this card, great bang for buck if you are on a budget... or if you want a cheap upgrade without buying the latest card, and have a gtx 970 already, buy this card!

good card great price

bought this from another retailer as overclockers didn't have any stock of this, the card uses a stock blower arrangement which is good because all the heat gets thrown out the back of the card and not inside the case, which helps other components to stay nice and cold. stock performance is very good and if you game at 1080p you wont run in to any of the memory bug issues, I've played FarCry 4, BF4, BF3, Titanfall and a few other games at max settings and no issues what so ever.
but no one buys a gpu these days and leaves it at stock speed, so i opened msi afterburner and upped the sliders to the max achievable, and i wasn't disappointed was able to crack the core clock up another +175 mhz which gave me a max core clock of 1491 and the ram went from 7ghz to 7.8ghz a increase of +400 on the ram.
at these speeds it can rival a gtx 980 and if you only plan to game at 1080p the gtx 970 is more than capable of doing that so save your self some cash and opt for a 970 and put the extra money towards a ssd or something else.
my opinion a great card
