Best investment I made for my PC

Extremely good graphics card, can run anything that I've tried and extremely good value for money with the games included in my opinion.

Only issue I have with it is that is is quite a big card, at 4cm thick and roughly 26cm long it is bigger than I expected, leading me to have to make a 'case mod' for it to fit.

Heating is a slight issue for me, I don't have many fans or any water cooling so the card can get kinda hot under load. I have taken to using an external room fan to cool everything until I get some proper cooling.

Overall however the card is excellent and I would recommend it to anyone wanting high end graphics for any game.

A Beezer Of A Card

Recieved my new card today. It installed within 5 minutes, no problems. I ran heaven DX11 benchmark and played Far Cry 3 and you would hardly have heard the fans kick in, Its so quite. Its alot quiter than my old msi lightening 6970 which wasnt even that loud under load. With all that in mind, along with the price of the card (

Great card, highly recommended.

Installed and working in 5 minutes with no trouble at all.

Performance is great, Hitman: Absolution is perfectly playable at maximum settings and has very good fps (>>40) with the AA turned down a notch to 4x. All other games I have tried run very well with a huge increase in performance over my old card (8800GTX).

The card is very quiet, can barely hear my computer at all with no background noise with it being about 1m away. Idle temp in my system is ~35 deg. C, highest I've seen it go up to is ~60 but as I haven't played anything for any extended sessions I expect it would get a bit higher than that, still nothing too high.

AMD Catalyst software (included with the drivers) lets you do some simple overclocking to the card with simple controls, which I thought was a very nice touch, although with the current performance I have felt no need to do any overclocking.

Overally very happy with the card, would recommend to anyone who wants a high end card that's not too expensive.

Good, but hot

The card performs very well, but it seems there's some variation in QC, because my card runs a bit hotter than others I've seen with the same card. I get 78C at 1100/1350 @1.1V with 68% fans when playing BF3, and thanks to my dual monitors forcing higher 500/1350 clocks, it idles at 55-60C.

Would be 5 stars, but I expected more from a non-reference cooler and am gutted to have my OC limited by heat where others aren't

Blew My Nvidia Away

I replaced my nvidia gtx 580 which I had from day one of my PC it now sits in a draw, as a spare :).
I was sceptical about getting another ATI, as the one I had before the nvidia just gave up the ghost after 18 months it ran TOOOO hot.

This card is not only really cool, but also very quite, and I can run any game with ultra turned on.
It was easier to fit than my Nvidia too.
Being in a clan, and being a gamer I need to have a decent card, and this fits the bill just right.
Top marks to OC for a fast delivery too.

Awesome card but beware of heat and nois

I purchased one of these cards today, got home and installed to find it runs as well as many of the other reviews here. Cracking card for the money along with a 7970 PCB.

I will say though mine after 6 hours of gaming is running a lot hotter than many people actually say on here. So far temps have got up to 75 degrees in an antec 1100 with 4 intake fans and two blowing onto the GPU. This coupled with the noisy fans (I can hear them over the fans I already have in there) mean I feel there are better cards out there when it comes to cooling.

Not quite a 5 because of noise and heat but 4 is probably the best I could rate this card for its otherwise stellar performance

First AMD Card

Ive never purchased a AMD card before, been a nVidia guy. Took to the forums with everyone suggesting this card. Delivered yesterday and all I can say, is its amazing. BF3 Ultra runs great, arkham city runs great. All in all..... Better than the 660ti :D

When I first built my system 20 months ago I had a 6850 Cyclone PE. good card but I felt it was holding me back. The Twin Frozr iii has taken me beyond the next level. Bang for buck can you really beat it??? The Gtx670 is its closest rival and for the most part the 7950 will out perform it and its about

Heat and noise

Fast card. I can't fault it's performance, but I'm having issues with heat and noise. I've run this in a CM Dominator with good airflow (an additional side fan blowing cold air onto the card) and it runs at around 80 degrees under load and makes a horrible noise. My room temp is around 19 degrees. I have a single 120hz monitor at 1920 x 1080 connected to the card. I am very disappointed with standard of this MSI card. When contacting OCUK about this, I was simply told that 80 degrees was fine and that 'the fans will increase in noise as the card gets hotter'. Judging by the other reviews on here, I've been unlucky getting this particular card. Since OCUK don't consider this a problem I'm left with no choice but to return this card to them for a refund.

Great value for money

I bought this card on this week only, and it is a great card. It's a heavy card, which shows the quality and initially I was worried it might sag when installed. Luckily it has a support beam which keeps the card exactly straight- despite the huge weight compared to my old card. It is pretty quiet, much more so than my old card (MSi R6850 OC) and much more performance, especially when overclocked. This card has great overclocking headroom, and the Twin Frozr cooler handles the heat with ease. I managed 1000/1400 on stock voltage- enough to surpass 7970 stock speeds. It munches through all games I can throw at it on a 1080p screen. The newer versions of these cards also come with 7970 PCBs, so they have 6+8 pin power connectors for better overclocking performance. All in all, a brilliant card for the money and I will be ordering from OCUK in the future for sure.

Top Class!

Went for the MSI card purely for the cooling solution which is known for being icy cold, and this card runs super cool! Battlefield maxed out, and the card only reaches 58 degrees celcius! DayZ was another reason for my upgrade, and with everything on highest settings, there is not even so much as a stutter! Great card, and an amazing price!

Great Card

Hmm what can i say, i was a bit
dubious about buying an amd graphics card always been an nvidia fan for many years as past amd cards let me down in the performance department, But not this one.
With an 3570k cpu and 8gb 1600mhz memory etc and this card i can easily run battle field 3 at ultra settings and to my surprise Arma2 everything on ultra 1920x1080 got 60 fps on its benchmark and thats with out over clocking the card.
5/5 Id give this card, only about an inch bigger that my gtx560ti card that it replaced.
