An awesome motherboard from MSI

Another outstanding motherboard by MSI.

Great performance and superiorer overclocking potential from this motherboard with rock solid stability.

It has great on board lighting and sequencing, the dual band wireless WiFi card provides a fast and reliable connection even on the 5 GHz band through 2 floors.

Great sound quality from the on board sound, which is very clear at its extremities.

The only niggle I've had is the positioning of the secondary power cable adaptor at the top of the board.
Its tight up against the radiator fans in my case.
This made plugging in a little difficult, hence the 9 out of 10.

I would highly recommend.

A high quality overclocking capable motherboard with on board RGB lighting, for those quality light shows.

Well, its been many years since I took the PC Enthusiast world seriously.

My first overclocking experience was with an Athlon XP2800 using an MSI K7N2-L motherboard. It was easy and straight forward process using the MSI motherboard back then, and I'm glad to see it hasn't changed one bit!

It was a straight forward build, with a very detailed and informative manual.
Which made things extremely easy and straight forward to understand. Especially the documentation with regards to Intel overclocking terminology.

I installed the motherboard in the case and all the wires were plugged in and tucked away neatly within 2 hours, which was brilliant.
The really impressive bit was how quick Windows 10 actually installed from a USB stick in comparison to my previous AMD CPU.

Once all set up, the RGB lighting sat pulsing its patterns in a dazzling light show, the Mystic Lighting works really well.
I look forwards to being able to purchase some more lighting for my system soon.

Performance wise, the motherboard and CPU are no slouch to start with.
It's such an improvement over my last AMD Build, that it unlocked another 30FPS in most titles at the same graphics settings.
It appears the AMD was bottle necking my graphics card! Which isn't all that high end either (RX480 4GB)

Not being the one to leave anything running away happily at stock speeds.
I decided to play with the overclocking.

Using MSI's very easy to use UEFI, I'd managed to achieve a stable 5ghz overclock with my I5-8600K. Pairing this with a 2x4gb sticks of 3200mhz DDR4 saw a very noticeable difference in performance whilst video encoding and Slicing 3D Prints.

The Dual Band Wifi card performs very well,
I'm currently using the 5ghz Band and I'm still able to achieve my full broadband speeds whilst being tucked away in an arkward corner of the room, whilst being 2 floors up with Zero issues.

I'd have to say that I'm struggling to find any major flaw with this Motherboard/CPU combo, it does everything I want flawlessly.

I cant wait to upgrade my lighting an add an Samsung 960 NVME into the mix. I'd imagine it would be incredible then!

If I was being really picky, I'd say that the auxiliary power connector for the CPU in the top left corner (tucked above the VRM heatsinks) Is a little hard to get at,
Especially in my case as the PSU cable just reaches, this required me to take my AIO out to make room for my fingers.
A little bit of a niggle, but it's not one that causes a major headache. But it's one of the joys of building a PC I suppose.
