Neptune SE Triple Monitor Stand - Black

The Neptune stand is extremely unique featuring a solid heavy base made from 8mm steel, about 82cm wide and 41cm deep. A central pillar with a monitor bracket and two also massive and over engineered arms to prevent flex and bending, as such the name Neptune is no coincidence and is the most premium monitor stand on the market and hence Neptune, the trident ruler of the seas.

Neptune can handle upto three very large screens, infact upto 32" in size and 8kg in weight each, meaning Neptune can handle pretty much every monitor on the market. The adjustability of Neptune means there is ample working space to create your setup. The remarkable stable construction can however be no doubt that the weight of three premium high quality monitors is no problem for Neptune.

For absolute certainty you can screw the base plate to the desk, but rest assured this is not required as the base is so heavy it ensure tipping over is not possible and as such create a very tidy solution by only having one stand and not need for three stands like some lower cost triple stands incorporate. Also thanks to integrated cable management is now resulting in clutter free desk.

The three individual holders are rotable individually as well as each of 360 degrees and allow the rotations of the assembled screens. All three holders can be adjusted together in height, the two cantilevers with their two joints can additionally via a thread even adjust in height. In addition, the brackets allow a screen to tilt upto 15 degrees in both directions. Thus, the precise allignment of the monitors can be connected to an optimal position for the user. The mounting of the screens can be carried out according to the VESA-75 or VESA-Standard 100mm.

Base Good, Arms Woeful

The first 1* review on this sums up the issues with this stand well. The lack of satisfactory control of monitor position is hugely frustrating - I've end up using black tape to keep the monitors horizontal and the tilt at the furthest setting back still caused the screens to droop forward. Confirms the old adage: "buy cheap, buy twice".

excellent well built stand

ok so i bought this and then as it arrived i read the review from matt so i wasnt too excited to get this set up... but i have to say they have either changed a few things since he bought it or he has very high expectations. it was packaged very well included tools to build it and delivery was speedy. i have a 28 inch 4k monitor in the middle and two 24s either side and it has no problem supporting these. the wobble is not a problem at all unless your kicking the crap out of your desk. 95 percent of it is solid metal. its very easily adjustable and easy to put together. the only gripe i have is the vesa mounts are plastic, but when they are screwed down there is no room to flex anyway so it doesnt really matter. overall a very good stand for 50 quid.

Good stand.

Stand came and was missing a grub screw and some other screws. Overclockers went out of their way to help. The stand takes a bit of setting up but once done is solid. Ignore the bad review as user obviously did not follow instructions. I have 3 27 inch monitors and they hold just fine. Full marks for customer service.

Just what i was looing for

First off i waws looking for a monitor stand that could support the setup i have but also did not want to spend alot of money as didnt have it at the time but really needed a good monitor stand.
I have my main monitor which is a iiyama 28inch 4k and either side of that i had 2 x Benq 22" monitors so i really needed a stand that would support the main monitor but also be able to have the two side ones really curved in as the setup i have on the desk i could not have them straight or a little curve in it had to be more.
This monitor stand seemed just what i need but was really unsure because of the first review and there wasnt really anything on the internet in regards to it after some searching around i decided to just buy it whats the worst that could happen.
once it arrived i quickly put it together,i will say the instructions could of been better but ive seen worse. Once you have the frame on and attached my monitor there was no Tipping happening anywhere it seemed solid but the moinitors did want to spin around to go into Portrait Mode but after taking them back off and tighting the section that controls this that soon stopped.
my only critasium is the vesa mounts i think they could of built them out of somthing stronger, at first i did have some flex in them but that was using the screws that came with the stand, i decided to use some i have spare from another stand and they fitted perfectly and hold the monitors close onto the vesa mounts so there was no movement.
Overall i have happy with the purchase as it fitted my setup perfectly and with a great curve in.

Just don't. Seriously.

This thing is not fit for purpose in any way shape or form. It's a monitor stand which doesn't hold monitors well, and can't stand upright either.

The first thing you notice when assembling it is that the screws for the upright are long enough that they poke through the bottom of the base, meaning you WILL scratch your desk. With weight on it, these will be deep gouges - ask me how I know... The next worrying sign after you've assembled most of it is that the vesa mounts are actually made of really cheap, thin, flexible plastic. This means that any slight vibration in the same postcode will send your screens bouncing around for 5 minutes. They rotate freely though, meaning you can have your screens in any orientation you want as long as the heaviest part of the monitor is at the bottom. If your screens are even slightly unbalanced - perhaps an inbuilt PSU, or buttons not in the middle, then you're never going to get them straight. Also, the screws are about 10mm too long, so you need to buy properly sized screws or go crazy with washers.

Once it's all together and you've got your monitors mounted, you'll notice they're now on the floor. "tipping over is not possible" actually means that three 27" monitors weighing in at a little over 7KG is enough to tip the lot over. How they can say it's good for 3x8KG screens at 32" I have no idea. Maybe they mean you should have the screens flat to the wall so you need binoculars to see the far edges?

When you pick it back up and put a box full of dead HDDs on the base to stabilise it, you will want to sort out the tilt, because all the monitors are pointing sharply down. Tough. The adjuster can't be tightened enough to allow that. As for having the screens facing you, it's impossible. The arms twist enough under the weight so that all 3 monitors will point forwards due to the frictionless (you can't stop it!) swivel motion. Or down, if they've fallen over again.

Finally, as for integrated cable management? It means the beams have slots in them, although they aren't big enough to fit kettle leads through, or the chokes on video/psu cables etc rendering them useless, unless they intended the slots to weaken the arms, in which case they're doing a grand job.

So the pictures for the product are about right - if you're after a stand for 3 bits of painted plywood, you're in luck. Otherwise, spend your money elsewhere.

Thankfully once the guys in the shop saw what I was returning, there was a knowing "ahh" and no argument at all. Nice chaps, good returns policy, terrible product.

OCUK: Please remove it from sale. If your staff are, as they told me, taking them all back as returns, it's not good to keep selling them.
