AMD Ryzen 3000 Series with "Zen 2" Architecture and PCI Express 4.0 Available Now!
AMD’s opening salvo has arrived in the form of the Ryzen 3000- series with the "Zen 2" architecture using the new advanced 7 nm FinFET lithography. Not only that, but AMD’s X570 chipsets have finally arrived as well. In spite of all this, fans will be pleased to know that all AMD Ryzen 3000- series CPUs are still fundamentally compatible with older chipsets (with the appropriate BIOS/UEFI update!), although when paired with the AMD X570 high-end chipset, CPUs from the Matisse family are able to make use of twice the bandwidth thanks to the fast PCI Express 4.0 standard.

PCIe 4.0 is backwards compatible and can still be used with graphics cards from earlier generations. X570 chipset motherboards are designed, like AMD’s CPUs, to work with the AM4 socket. Other developments include twice the Level 3 Cache, increased clock frequencies and even more cores alongside the auto-overclocking function aka Precision Boost Overdrive (only with AMD X570). This allows users to benefit from up to 200 MHz more, factoring in the necessary CPU temperatures and power delivery.
AMD Ryzen 3000 APUs with Integrated Radeon Vega Graphics
The Ryzen 3000 APUs from AMD’s Picasso series offer Zen+ architecture like their AMD breathren but with the added benefit of integrated Radeon Vega graphics. Included alongside all Ryzen 3000-series models, users will be chuffed to discover that AMD has thoughtfully included a Wraith cooler, the top model of which is known as the Wraith Prism and includes an awesome-looking RGB-LED ring. As is par for the course by now, AMD has decided to go with unlocked multipliers to enable manual overclocking. AMD’s price versus performance proposition just keeps getting better!
