Blizzcon is always scheduled around November time and there was hope that it may go ahead however Blizzard Entertainment announced it will not host its annual BlizzCon event this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. All is not lost as Blizzard have intentions to move the event online and connect with its audience remotely at some point early next year. BlizzCon is also a stage for big esports events such as the Overwatch World Cup, the World of Warcraft Arena World Championship and major Starcraft II and Hearthstone championships. Fortunately, Blizzard is looking into alternatives for supporting some of the high-level competition that would normally take place at the show. Click the thumbnail to see the official announcement.

Denuvo is removed from DOOM
Well, that didn’t last long. Doom just got it’s first big patch and it came bundled with Denovu Anti-cheat. However, the gaming community despised the Kernel-level service and the game was subsequently inundated with negative reviews on Steam. It seems Doom Eternal executive producer Marty Stratton listened to the game’s audience and released a statement stating “Despite our best intentions, feedback from players has made it clear that we must re-evaluate our approach to anti-cheat integration, we will be removing the anti-cheat technology from the game in our next PC update.” The software will be removed in the next patch and It there was several clarifications made within the statement. It looks like ranked or competitive play will eventually have updated anti-cheat while campaign-only players will have the ability to play without anti-cheat. Core i9-10900K hits 7.7Ghz
Here at Overclockers, we love a bit of overclocking. The clues in the name! The i9-10900K was released to the market on 20th May and with a single-core turbo clock speed of 5.3Ghz, it’s already fast out of the box. However, through extreme overclocking, this chip has been pushed to an impressive 7.7Ghz. The new record was set by famed overclocker Elmor who used liquid Helium (colder than Nitrogen) to get the CPU running at that speed on all 10 cores. The record was set in-house at Asus HQ and Elmor and his team ran the chip at 1.194V in an Asus ROG Maximus XII Apex motherboard. This number isn’t exactly realistic for normal day to day computing but the i9-10900K still clocks well and overclocking expert Ian “8 Pack” parry has put together some guaranteed bundles you can use in your own system.
