In more positive news it was announced the Graphics in Cyberpunk will be utilising ray-traced reflections alongside ray-traced diffuse illumination, ray-traced shadows and ray-traced ambient occlusion. DLSS 2.0 will also be supported to maintain good performance figures and even if you don’t have an RTX GPU you can still experience these features via Geforce Now. On June 25th the first episode of Night City Wire went live and gave us a sneak peek of a new trailer, gameplay and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, an anime series coming in 2022. Apple ditches Intel processors:
One of the biggest announcements at Apple's WWDC 2020 was that intel chips are being replaced with their own custom Apple Silicon A-series chips based on the ARM Architecture. Apple has said that platform consolidation and performance advantages are the main reasons for moving away from Intel and one former Intel engineer claimed that Intel's issues with Skylake chips caused Apple to focus on creating its new Arm-based chips. Iphones and Ipads already use A-series chips that are close in speed to intel CPUs used in Macbooks so we can expect desktop performance to be impressive. Apple's A-series chip packages include custom-built GPUs, Secure Enclave, memory and storage controllers, machine learning processors, Image Signal Processing, custom encryption, and more, all of which will be applied to Mac processors. It’s expected we will see the first updated Macbook Pro and iMac in late 2020 or early 2021 and Apple has confirmed that the first new Apple Silicon products are set to be released in late 2020. You can watch the WWDC below. The Silicon update begins at 1:25:57.
